Do you think Leia will pass away in this one ? As I think I read they were writing her out of the last film

I think they will. They said they aren't using the CGI trick (like they used for Tarkin and Leis in Rogue One) to include her in Episode 9.

I wonder if they'll kill her off in this film or kill her off in the next one, maybe using some unused footage or telling us about her death rather than showing us (like in the opening scrawl).

In Star Trek Beyond, they managed to write off Leonard Nimoy in a respectful manner by having Spoke Prime pass away between films. There's even a touching visual homage to the entire original cast. Since J.J. Abrams was heavily involved with Star Trek Beyond and is now directing Star Wars IX, I can see him doing something similar with Carrie Fisher and Leia.
