Rank All Live Action Movies that were once animated

Now that Beauty and the Beast is out, and Disney is making a Dumbo and A Little Mermaid Live Action movies that are being made. How do you rank all the live action movies that were originally animated in order from best to worst.

I'll include all live action features from 101 Dalmatians till The Lion King
1. The Lion King
2. Cinderella
3. Aladdin
4. Beauty and the Beast
5. Mary Poppins Returns
6. Dumbo
7. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
8. Maleficent
9. Oz the Great and Powerful
10. Christopher Robin
11. Pete's Dragon
12. The Sorcerer's Apprentice
13. 101 Dalmatians
14. 102 Dalmatians
15. Alice Through the Looking Glass
16. Alice in Wonderland.

I think both Alice movies are equally bad, but the second one is a little more fun, and I enjoy the story a lot more.

7. Maleficent

I enjoyed Beauty and the Beast more than The Jungle Book but that's probably my love for the source material. The Jungle Book is the superior film technically. I haven't seen 101 Dalmatians in a while but I remember liking Cruella. I personally found Pete's Dragon to be really boring but I can't stand either Alice or Maleficent for departing from the original films.

I go back and forth, but while there's no question to me that TJB was objectively better, I also enjoyed it a touch more than B&tB.

As for Maleficent, I thought it was good except for the intro (with child Maleficent... Inexplicably with lipstick?? ) and the horrid, cutesy, cringey CGI animals--also present in AiW and Cinderella. Stefan could've had a better actor, too. And from what I remember, the christening scene was the worst scene; combination of the carried-over dialogue from the animated classic standing out as so vastly superior to the rest of the film and Jolie trying to unnecessarily differentiate from the animated scene (and doing a bad job). I thought Jolie was perfect in the rest of the film though.

I think I need to watch The Jungle Book again. I missed it in theaters so I ended up watching a bad online copy instead over a series of days so that probably diluted my enjoyment. Reading the original book now will probably help me make more connections too since I recognized a lot of stuff while I was reading the book from the live-action film.

I've only skimmed through Maleficent so I haven't seen it in its entirety (nor do I want to), but I've usually heard people say that Jolie's best scene was the christening scene and that alone should be viewed while the rest of the movie is trash.

Hmm. I hate the christening scene because it pales in comparison to the animated film (in which the christening scene is the best moment of the film, imo). I think it's because Jolie was too shouty, as if she were addressing the hall, where Audley doesn't shout except for "Listen, all of you!" and the very end with the vision of the spindle wheel.

I'll be honest I couldn't put myself through watching the whole of The Sorcerer's Apprentice. I'm not fond of Nicholas Cage though. I saw bits and pieces of it when it was airing on ABCFamily.

I'm also including other recent live-action fairytale movies:

- The Jungle Book (2016)
- Pete's Dragon (2016)
- Aladdin (2019)
- Christopher Robin (2018)

- Oz the Great and Powerful (2013)
- The Lion King (2019)
- The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010)
- Cinderella (2015)

- 101 Dalmatians (1996)
- Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)
- Beauty and the Beast (2017)
- Dumbo (2019)

- The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018)
- 102 Dalmatians (2000)
- Alice in Wonderland (2010)
- Maleficent (2014)

I remember very little of the 1994 version of The Jungle Book to rank it at the moment, but that was more of a re-adaptation of the source material anyway.

I haven't seen MPR or Dumbo (or TLK) yet, so I'll just say my list is the same except for Aladdin at #2 and Christopher Robin above The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Funny enough I think the last one I saw was... 101 dalmatians. lol

I never even actively decided to not see them, they just don't appeal to me. Not saying the idea of Aladdin didn't intrigue me, always wanted one in fact, but the final product just looks bleh. Even the lion king couldve been cool in the hands of someone else. but they took all the emotion out from what I can tell.

Edit: whoops! I just remembered I did in fact watch beauty and the beast. just not in theaters. Didnt care for it at all.

Disney must cast Rachel Bloom in one of their animated or live action musicals. She both hilarious and a great singer !
