What did you think of: The Three Musketeers?

I just finished watching it. *Ahem* well, actually, I just finished going back to the part I fell asleep at and finished watching it. I blame part of it on the fact that I was up until 5 am watching Anastasia only to get up a few hours later to go to the mall to buy The Three Musketeers. But anyway, what did you think of it? Here's my opinion:

SPOILERS BELOW, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

Personally, I had a hard time getting 'into' this movie. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it...but I never liked that one character flaw idea. You know, where each character has just one thing wrong with him or her (i.e. the Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz) and in this case, Goofy's stupid, Donald's a coward, and Mickey's to short, or 'small' as they put it. (Which is pointless, Donald is like a hair taller)
I did, howvever LOVE the turtle who pops up now and then to sing songs. "Oh no. When the bad guy is that happy...it always always mean...BAD GUY SONG!" Pete singing, that's priceless.

Overall, I liked it besides the character flaws, I'm glad I bought it, it's a story I could watch when there's nothing new on TV.

I almost forgot, the appearance of the Beagle Boys was cool...I haven't seen them in forever.

I liked it and I liked it better on subsequent viewings. I have minor quibbles with it but they are not enough to kill my enjoyment of it. And it looked good on the screen at the theater too.

Yes, I did overall enjoy it, and I would watch it again without hesitation...The little tid bits when Pete sings "Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, You're as welcome as can be!" to Mickey and he says the Opera is called "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" was just to funny. Was this movie made before the Lion King?

Well, I tried to get a copy from Blockbuster, but they were ALL GONE! I just can't believe it! Well, I hope that I can watch it tonight.

Back there at Laughingplace.com, they gave The Three Musketeers a C? I was like, "A C?!! Are you joking?!" If I liked this film, and give it a solid "A," then I won't trust Laughingplace.com anymore (honestly, this is getting out of hand. Giving Shrek 2 a C).

Forgive me for going a little off topic. So, I will try to watch the Three Musketeers tonight, and I pray and hope that it won't be checked out.

I agree: Laughing Place has been awfully critical about movies lately. Still, it's better than Mouse Planet, which I used to frequent, but rarely has anything good to say anymore.

You comments would have been better left unsaid. Someone posted the other day that if you've seen the movie (before it was released) then they could post regarding the movie. I was curious as to if it meant that the movie might have been released once before. I'm rather new at this whole Disney DVD collection, and your un-encouraging remark is rather ill-willed.

Perhaps I shall venture elsewhere, where my questions are not ridiculed.

No it wasn't. You were probably thinking of The Prince and the Pauper which came out in 1990. That is an easy mistake since both movies look the same.

he was wrong, you have nothing in common with Goofy. Instead you have something in common with Donald, not the new one, the original.

I didn't see it yet. Personally we can't go to any movie rental places here. They all suck. Blockbuster doesn't really have good movies, Hollywood is STUPID and Showtime (which is the best) hate us. Not a clue why. Perhaps it's they're damn teenagers there!

Anyway, it looks CUTE, not interesting. Personally I like cute. So, I might like it.

I really enjoyed Three Musketeers. The slick humour was drizzled all throughout the film. References like Disneygirl has previously mentioned had me laughing.

The direction from Cook was wonderful. Animation wasn't perhaps "Feature" quality, but was much better than average DTV quality. Not sure if any CGI was encorporated, but I didn't see it sticking out like with the train or cows in HOTR or even the dishes in BATB; in comparison look at the pull-away shot with all the Musketeers dancing, or check out the train tracks part. I just really love how everything was hand-animated; as far as I could see. Colors were nice and vibrant, but there was also at times a gloomy kind of haze tone it down when appropriate.

I loved how at times, Mickey and Donald wore their "regular" clothes. Nice to see Clarabelle back in the gang, and I liked those Beagle Boys. I didn't think that the voice actresses for Clarabelle and Daisy fit the characters; they both seemed too... masculine; not the right word but it just didnt seem right. Now, if only Horace came back for a cameo in this movie....

I didn't think it was rushed or too slow; it seemed perfect to me. Time just seemed to fly by. The thing I particularily loved was seeing the whole Mickey gang back on screen after all these years. I liked this more than TLK 1.5 prolly for that reason only. They both are great films with above-average animation quality and same type of humour. Considering this was a DTV; I'd have to give it a 3.5/4; I thoroughly loved it! Proud to have it in my collection.

I really didn't care for it. The animation was serviceable, but the story was kind of bland I thought. When it was over I kind of shrugged my shoulders and said that's it. These characters deserve better. I'd give the movie about a C just like Laughing Place did. Oh and in no way is this even in the same league as Mickey's Christmas Carol or the Prince and the Pauper.
