Apparently the Disney Channel promos for Beauty and the Beast use a completely different restoration and one that looks a lot more like the original film as seen here.
http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php ... 82&page=30

That means that the blu-ray alone has at least three different restorations at this point. I'm really hoping the Signature Edition will be using the Disney Channel promo restoration; I can't imagine why they would have that version and just use it for commercials, so perhaps there's hope. If not that version, then at least the 3D restoration which while not accurate, is still better than the 2D blu-ray one.

Apparently if you take the laserdisc and lower the red levels and increase the brightness, it looks just like the 3D restoration. So if they use the 3D restoration for the Signature Edition, then at least by increasing the red and lowering the brightness, we can get the film looking like it originally should have.

OMG! On iTunes you can view all the bonus features! Just not on Disney Movies Anywhere app! OMG, I'm a kid in a candy store right now lol! :milkbuds:
The restoration looks a little better, although I'm viewing it on my iPhone lol.
I'll check it out later on my TV!
I'm so happy right now! :D
Could you please provide a comparison between the Diamond and Signature Edition transfers?

It's been confirmed that the Signature Edition for Beauty and the Beast has the same transfer as the 2D diamond edition. I will definitely NOT be purchasing this come Tuesday.

Does the signature edition Snow White or Beauty and the beast come with any inserts?

The Signature Edition still has the same flaw for Something's There in the theatrical version (in addition, still no original blue castle Disney logo either):

I think we need to ask Disney to do a replacement program.

Here are the phone numbers for Amy Astley, VP of Publications at Disney Animation: 818-460-8952, 818-726-8768. Tell her about the issue with the Beauty and the Beast Blu-Ray. I already did, but if more people call her, and the more times she'll forward the message over, the more likely we'll get replacement discs.

Has some of you bought the new Signature edition? If so, does it have all of the old bonus features from the Diamond Edition?

The time stamp for the "Something There" mistake is 56:31.

I called a representative regarding on the Something's There mistake on the theatrical version in addition of restoring the blue castle Disney logo and the 5.1 audio issues (though she didn't seem to know, I just told her what I knew). Regarding the latter:

This entire release seems botched up. The same restoration as before, the same glitch as before, and new audio issues. Honestly, the changing of the front logo is the least surprising of all of this because they've basically done that on every other 90s film now too.

I've been thinking about it. Does the shot at the end of "Something There" really matter all that much?

Luke haven't written a review about this current edition of Beauty and the Beast. He's skipping the fall releases of the Diamond/Signature Collections once again.

But he reviewed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: The Walt Disney Signature Collection.

Hey guys! I was looking at the cover art for the new Signature edition of Beauty and the Beast and realised something, the title isn't sideway! :o

Yeah, but that wasn't a fall release and he usually reviews winter releases. Sorry to nitpick.
