I like the design for Mrs. Potts. Belle is decent although she didn't blow my mind like I thought she would. I guess the ballgown is meant to evoke that feeling. I just hope Belle's hair is put into a more proper ponytail like in the animated movie because it looks a bit messy here. As for Gaston's armor, I'm hoping there is a story explanation for that. It does look nice, although albeit a bit anachronistic.

Are you sure the armor is anachronistic? I think I've seen such armor and epaulettes on men from the 17th century. But yes, this is supposed to be the 18th century...

You know Gaston's outfit is actually pretty cool. Just doesn't look very matched and nice. But Belle's I find weird and mismatched and ugly.

Interesting costume designs. I'm really looking forward to seeing some new footage from the movie as well.

I think they will show Emma Watson as Belle or Dan Stevens as the Beast only when they release the new trailer in November. They did the same thing with Cinderella (well, in that case, they only released a publicity still). I must say, I'm really excited for this one. I keep thinking that if Cinderella and The Jungle Book were so great, this one will be even better, because Beauty and the Beast has more fans than those two combined.

I can't wait to hear the cast sing. :D

After seeing the picture of the village, I'm glad that it's been kept close to how it looked in the animated feature. That it will be an adaptation that replicates the original's tone and feel.

According to producer Jack Morrissey, that costume design doesn't appear in the final film.

Yeah same. I wonder how much of the castle interior will be similar to the animated movie. I love the diverging staircase which Belle and Beast descend before the ballroom scene.

JeanGreyForever, do you know the time periods where the parts of the Gaston concept art came from? I don't.

I honestly don't know. I'm not too familiar with armor but I also sort of got Spanish Conquistador vibes like some other posters have said here. That might also be though because of Gaston's dark hair and red and gold/yellow color scheme in general though. The Spanish Conquistadors would have been after 1492 and and around the time of Pocahontas which is 1607. I think by that time the Spanish wasn't conquering much more anyway so mostly 1500s and early 1600s. Even then though, I don't want to say for sure that Gaston's armor in that concept art is from the Spanish Conquistador era, because I'm sort of going off of vibes there.

Oh. Well thanks for helping some. It looks to me like his armor is indeed from the 1600's, but doesn't have to be Spanish.

Really ? Just sounded like Hermione to me...Dan seemed good though ! Maybe that's not Emma's fault, but I can't help thinking it.

I agree, Emma's wonderful. Dan Stevens sounds fantastic, too. He's modulating his voice more than I expected. I wish March was here already. I want to see this so bad.

That's a nice sneak peek. She actually doesn't remind me too much of Hermoine here though.

I agree on Emma Watson being a good Belle. She is different from the original Belle, but in her own take on the character, she still sounds like a good Belle. Dan Stevens is also being his own, good Beast.
