I know Duster wanted to find out the rest of what happen in Kilala Princess and that I promise a long time ago i'd scan the rest of pages, but since I'm a lazy bastard, I didn't do so. But lucky enough I found place that did scanlation of entire series. So anyof you who want to read it and find out the rest, here's the link:

I had the japanese volumes in raw so while I couldn't read it, the story was very clear by picture. And it was very cliche. But my god after actually reading it, it is even more obnoxiously cliche. Main girl is such a mary-sue.

I want Goliath to read it so I can hear his harsh criticism rant on it.


there is one particular unusual thing though in Aurora's segment. It take place year after end of movie(She turns 17) and we me some little loli girl that is apparently Prince Phillip's cousin....I was like wtf.

LOL I've always wanted to read this out of curiosity, but I kept thinking it was just another Kingdom Hearts-like story. Or just generic shoujo manga #3964 with Disney characters thrown in.

Seriously, these are the same concepts you'd find in your average 14-year old's fanfiction.

LOL I know. The crazy part is how sicken mary-sue it is. The only original character that was more tolerable is the Princess Slyphy girl. Even calling Kilala's acting B grade drama. But like all fan-fiction, Even she gets suck into the mary-sueness of Kilala and he beliefs.

I also lol how Valdeo was all like "Open up! You're out of touch with reality!" When he's also out of touch with it too with his Utopia beliefs and shit.

Finished reading the whole thing. Wow, that was bad. I mean really bad.
It fulfilled my every expectation of what would happen.

I don't think I've ever seen that many inaccuracies, plot holes, and deux ex machinas before. Well, other than Twilight. And the whole thing just seemed way too rushed/fast-paced.

The only positive thing I would say about this, is that the artist can draw the Disney characters almost perfectly on-model.
Which in-turn makes Kilala and the rest of her moe gang look pretty out of place. Especially Slyphy, or whatever her name was. Her entire character just screamed rushed, from her introduction, to development, to even her freakin design.


So yeah, this sucked. I'm gonna go read GE - Good Ending

Eh basically the general story of the series.
And by plot holes, I mean stuff like, why after Kilala was shot, was she taken to the world of Cinderella? They don't explain anymore than that. She just kinda gets shot, wakes up in Cinderella's world, and then when she's done there, she wakes up where she was before like nothing happened. Unless I missed something. Before that, she physically went into the other princesses worlds.

Or in Ariel's world, AFTER they find Rei, Flounder says something like "I hope we don't run into humans!" and Sebastian says humans are evil and stuff. But yet Kilala and Rei are standing right in front of King Triton right before they leave.
Unless everyone forgot what humans look like. Yeah Kilala is "disguised" as a mermaid, but Rei isn't.

Oh, GE-Good Ending is just a shounen romance manga I've been currently reading. It's listed on the same site so I realized a new chapter just came out.
It's pretty good. I'd go into more about it, but I'd be going go off-topic. But if you're into dramatic stories and good character development, you should definitely check it out.

But yeah, I guess Kilala Princess isn't THAT bad considering it's targeted audience. It's a pretty simple, straightforward story, but the whole thing is just a sue-fest.

Tokyopop is finally releasing the entire Kilala Princess manga in English (back in the day they only released the first two volumes which have been long out of print). The first volume will be released on July 19, 2016, the second volume on September 20, 2016, the third volume on December 13, 2016, the fourth volume on March 07, 2017, and the fifth one on May 09, 2017. After all the individual volumes are released, they will issue a collectible slipcase for all five. A collection of the first three volumes will be released on July 23, 2024 and a collection of the last two volumes will released on September 17, 2024.
















In Italy, the first volume received a variant cover that was released on November 02, 2023.

Tokyopop is releasing a new manga series by the same artist of "Kilala Princess" called "Magical Dance!". It consists of two volumes with the first volume being released on June 06, 2017 and the second one on August 01, 2017.

The premise of the manga is as follows:

A young girl joins a dancing competition with her fellow students and soon realizes that she has two left feet! She spends a lot of time practicing but is discouraged by her results. Because of the young girl’s passion and dedication, Tinker Bell appears to grant her a wish. When Tinker Bell casts a spell on a magical card, the young girl enters the magical world of Disney and learns the joys of dancing!

Tokyopop is releasing a sequel to Kilala Princess.

Tokyopop will also be expanding its relationship with Disney, with a new five-volume series of Kilala Princess also awaiting release. Following up on the original five-volume series from 2005, this second series will once again see Kilala meeting a number of Disney princesses, but this time the focus is on more diverse characters including Mulan, Pocahontas and Brave's Merida.

Kilala Princess will also be crossing paths with a new diverse set of princesses: Mulan, Merida, Rapunzel, Tiana and Pocahontas (Disney is being very careful with their Pocahontas representation).

Did the original release sell that well for Tokyopop? There's no way the original Japanese artist will be involved in this when she moved from Kodansha to Shogakukan over four years ago.
