Apparently, she's not going to be inducted into the Disney Princess line.
Q: Is Elena going to be part of Disney Princess line-up?

Craig Gerber: Elena is going to be considered as much a Disney Princess as Anna and Elsa.

Q: So, that's a no? Because neither Anna nor Elsa are part of the official Disney Princess line-up.

Craig Gerber: Being an "official Disney Princess" is not determined by the "line-up" anymore. Elena is being considered a Disney Princess.

Q: There sure is an official Disney Princess line-up, so if Elena is not part of it, she is not official?

Craig Gerber: Post-Frozen, the "line-up" doesn't mean what it used to mean. If it did, Anna & Elsa would be in it.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 2365054980
Q: Will Elena be part of the Princess line up or her own franchise?

Craig Gerber: Elena is being considered a Disney Princess like Anna & Elsa. She gets her Royal Welcome at DisneyWorld in a few weeks!

Q: So has the DP line become the Disney "Vegas residency"? Since Frozen and Elena are currently marketed as their own brands.

Craig Gerber: Ha ha! I can't speak for the Company, but I think new Disney Princesses are expected to carry the weight of their own crowns.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 6741903361
Q: Why isn't she joining the line up? She's perfect for it.

Craig Gerber: Why aren't Elsa & Anna in the line-up? Same answer to both questions. DisneyWorld debut will show how Disney sees Elena.

Q: So, we're going to have to wait 'till her debut in Disney World?

Craig Gerber: Elena is being introduced soon at Disney World w/ all the fanfare they would give a princess in the line-up.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 0258486272
Q: I was told Elena isn't an official Disney princess because she is not in the franchise. True or false?

Craig Gerber: False. Being a Disney Princess is not dependent on being in the "line-up." Anna and Elsa are not there either.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 4201275393
Q: Are Anna and Elsa not in the lineup because they're too popular?

Craig Gerber: All I know for sure is that from Frozen on, Disney Princesses are expected to create their own franchises, not be part of the same one.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 0257908736
Craig Gerber: Now the big news for collectors: Elena of Avalor Limited Edition doll will be out in Nov & Animators Doll in Jan. #Legit #DisneyPrincess

Q: Does this mean that Elena will be added to the official Disney Princess lineup?

Craig Gerber: I don't think the official lineup is so "official" anymore. Don't see Anna, Elsa or Moana in it.

Q: They will be included though in the Disney Princess scene in Wreck-It Ralph 2. How come Elena won't be included?

Craig Gerber: Maybe the feature folks only want to use the feature princesses. Parks & Consumer Products treat Elena like an "official" princess.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 4382614528
Q: I've been thinking, if Elena is not gonna join the Disney Princesses or Wreck-It Ralph 2, why do they include her in their Disney Princess posts on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube? Even in their princess videos she is featured. Has Disney said anything about that?

Craig Gerber: They include Elena in those posts because she is a Disney Princess. I imagine she is not in Wreck-It-Ralph 2 because she is not a Disney Princess from an animated feature film, but that is just a guess.

.... but there is an 'Official Disney Princess Line-Up', by Disneys own terminology. Hence the hoo-hah of Anna and Elsa not being included yet / if ever.

So the fact he says 'just as much as Anna & Elsa' doesn't lead me to believe his word as gospel. Does that mean Sofia is a Princess too ? If they both are then I guess it is what it is, but if its just Elena and not Sofia then thats just inconsistent.

To me, being an 'Official Princess' is coming from an Animated Classic (or Pixar I suppose now as well). Thats just my view, doesnt mean its right or anything. Just my thoughts.

can anyone recognize the architecture of the castle? it looks somewhat Mediterranean inspired to me as well as the landscape. I was expecting more Mexican/Central/South American influence in this. The wand does seems to have a more pre-colombian culture design.

I detect a very light hispanic accent, but I like it. Much better than having a stereotypical hispanic accent.

Cinderella and Belle appear in the crowd during Elena's coronation in the first episode.

We see Belle in the second episode, too.

However, Disney princesses won't be making cameos on the show like they do on Sofia the First.
Q: Will Disney Princesses be making an appearance on Elena of Avalor like they do on Sofia the First?

Craig Gerber: Spoiler alert: no.

Q: Will any other pre-existing Disney characters make an appearance?

Craig Gerber: Nope. Elena is going on her own journey.

Generic song, but I'm starting to warm up to her design. The designs to the other characters are not as generic as expected.

If you can't wait to see Disney's first-ever Latina princess in action, it's officially time to get excited, because we have an exclusive first look at the premiere episode of her highly anticipated Disney Channel show, Elena of Avalor.

With dialogue reminiscent of many Hispanic-American homes — complete with accents and hints of Spanglish sprinkled throughout — the clip features an exciting peek at the royal family's dynamic, including introductions to the show's key characters like Elena's sister, Isabel, her grandparents, Francisco and Luisa, and her (dare we say evil?) cousin, Chancellor, as well as the turmoil to come after Elena discovers the totally unfair reason she isn't allowed to become queen. Ah, the suspense!

Hola! I love, love, love Elena of Avalor so far! The first episode was awesome beyond words! I’ve watched it four times! The music was incredible and very enjoyable! My favorite aspect of the show is Elena’s bond with her little sister, Isabel! I’m so excited to see Model Sister! Even though my favorite princesses are Ariel and Jasmine, Elena has definitely been added to that list! I love the values of familia the show is demonstrating. Here’s to more awesome adventures with Elena, Isabel and her friends to come!

According to Craig Gerber on his twitter, there is quite mix up in airing release being out of order to chronological order. The special which is a Sofia/Elena special is suppose to come out in Fall. That special is suppose to take place before the Elena episode that just came out and the new Sofia episode that came out other day (she now has a pink amulet.) The special is about Sofia freeing Elena from the amulet and I think defeating the evil sorceress who took over Avalor. I thought the special would come out July 22 but apparently that's when the first series' episode debut.
