Really? That's strange, because according to what I know about heroines, Pocahontas and Mulan are the clear-cut definition. Mulan saved China, and Pocahontas saved her people, both forsaking love in the process? Cinderella or Aurora giving up their Prince Charming to save their kingdom? Yeah, and then they fairy tale went up in flames. Every other Disney princess/heroine has been a feminist target for misogyny.
Well, for starters, it's a matter of taste... and I don't like Mulan or Pocahontas as characters. As we've discussed before, I think Pocahontas- the movie and the character is a bit of a stiff and pretentious. She just rubs me the wrong way. And when it comes down to it, I prefer a princess over a heroine.

Agreed. I think as animated characters, all female and non-hero characters are good for what they are. You just made is sound like Pocahontas and Mulan aren't very good heroines.
I think Disney should try and get out of the "stock" character mode for their films. Why a princess or a heroine, when you can have a perfectly good role-model in an everyday girl?

theyre both good heriones.... just in my opinion, (and i guess in aaron's too) the personality that disney gives them is just a little... weak.
and about what you said about disney maybe going for a role model with an every day girl- well didnt they just do that with lilo and stitch?
55 days 'till Jack is back

Lilo and Nani are hardly heroines. They two people in a bad situation, made worse by Stitch. If you mean the star of the movie was a normal girl, then okay, but they're hardly heroines.
