Sad news everyone, it looks like Uncle Scrooge has left this world. I hope they dedicate the new Ducktales series in his memory, and can find someone who can do his voice justice.

Rest in peace. Always loved his voicework as Scrooge. He'll be difficult to replace.
My thoughts go out to his family/friends.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Oh yeah, this IS saddening. But I'm glad that he lived as long as he did to provide such an iconic role to millions of fans.
Good thing I own DuckTales Remastered and just about everything he's done as Scrooge. He may be gone, but his voice will be forever immortalized.
Have a long rest, Alan. You've earned it. R.I.P.

I'm grateful I was able to meet this remarkable man once. I only wish I had been able to get to know him better, because everything I've seen and heard about him told me that he really was one of a kind. RIP Mr. Young

I mean the guy played bagpipes with Marilyn Munroe, which is pretty awesome. And the reason why he was so good for the role, is because he actually could replicate a Scottish accent due to actually having Scottish heritage. They should have a requirement for the new actor of Scrooge to be of Scottish descent, so it can sound similar to how Alan Yong portrayed Scrooge.Angeldude98 wrote:I am deeply saddened to hear these news... Such a great actor! He will be missed. I hope Disney makes a good choice when finding the actor that will replace Alan Young as the new Scrooge McDuck.

Well I've had a day to think of what I am gonna say about this. This man was truly remarkable, and quite honestly his voice of Scrooge McDuck WAS my childhood. I feel finding another man to voice Scrooge might be more difficult than replacing Mickey. But I don't care about the next Scrooge, I want to honor this man, who lent brought Scrooge to life since the 80's. 96 is a long long time to live, longer than most people reach and had a truly blessed life. He will be missed greatly.
