I think the script for Moana is already written. I'm expecting to read, "Not as good as Zootopia" a hundred thousand times.

Something would have gone seriously wrong if Moana fails to deliver. There's a lot of reliable talent behind it so I'm optimistic.

Rank from (first viewing) memory

1. Wreck It Ralph
2. Tangled
3. Zootopia
4. Frozen
5. Bolt
6. Winnie the Pooh
7. Big Hero 6
8. Princess and the Frog

Not sure if we count Meet the Robinsons and Chicken Little? When did Lasseter come on? MtR would be #6 or #7, definitely ahead of BH6.

Meet the Robinsons is the first film in which John Lasseter is credited as executive producer, but the studio now seems to count Bolt as the first film from the Lasseter era.

The documentary was really interesting. I wish they had done documentaries like this one for the rest of the latest WDAS films too. Could this be the same “feature length documentary” that is planned to be on the blu-ray? The titles are not the same, but would they have done another documentary for the film when they already had this one?
The Origin of an Animal Tale - The Zootopia you know and love is not the same film as it originally started. In this feature length documentary, join the filmmakers on an epic tale taking us from Zootopia Spy Movie origins and through a shocking story shift that turned the whole movie upside down, bringing you the film we know and love today.

Wonderful find ! Completely agree though, the one they ultimately went with in the picture is better.

Seen it 3 times in the cinema now and it just gets better and better ! Absolutely rocketing up there into my top 5 Disney animated features.

finally got to see this today. had planned on going during the easter weekend advance screenings, but other stuff came up.

thoroughly enjoyed it, and hope to go again when the school holidays are finished. only 6 other people in the cinema, pity 2 were toddlers/preschoolers who wouldnt be quiet or sit still, and their grandmother who failed to follow through on multiple threats to go home. the youngest fell asleep eventually, and it was finally peaceful. i had to bite my tongue several times.

since i avoided any info about it, many things surprised me. i liked nick more than i thought i would. his presumed cockiness wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. and judy is just darn adorable. i also liked how you had to remember things from earlier and tie them back to how it ended. kinda like a who-dunnit detective movie. a nice change from musical princess movies.

now, off to explore easter eggs for the next time i go.

Absolutely loved it, and I love it more and more the more I think about it. Rich Moore is just a valuable addition to WDAS. My personal ranking (just to show some love to MTR and WIR):

1. Wreck-It Ralph = Meet the Robinsons
2. Zootopia
3. Frozen
4. Big Hero 6
5. Tangled
6. Bolt
7. Princess and the Frog
8. Winnie the Pooh

This is such an exciting time for WDAS. These movies have such consistency in quality whilst exhibiting a variety in styles, themes and messages. This period is definitely one that competes with the Golden eras of Walt Disney, the Renaissance and Pixar's first 9 movies.

Subject to change. Winnie the Pooh ranks so lowly because it failed to recapture any of the charm of the 70s shorts. The Many Adventures ranks in my top 3 of all time favourite movies.

Zootopia will hit the $900 million mark this weekend, joining The Lion King & Frozen as the only WDAS features to hit that mark in the modern era. It opens in it's last major market this weekend "Japan" & if it breaks out can hit the $Billion$ mark before the end of it's run. Just absolutely incredible 8)

Keeping EVERYTHING crossed that it does indeed hit that mark ! Not only because it deserves it, but it will prove to Disney that its not just Princesses that get embraced by the world !

Captain America: Civil War, Finding Dory and Rogue One also look likely to get to a billion dollars. Moana and Alice Through the Looking Glass have a possibility, too, but I think Alice (while still being very successful) will make less than its predecessor. Either way, Disney is going to be one very happy studio this year.

Apparently there has been a bit of a situation in Disney parks, as Nick and Judy don't currently do character meet and greets. And they are massively requested every single day by most guests. Wonder why Disney is delaying it so much :?

I haven't seen this yet, but I'm still hoping it doesn't manage to pass Frozen's worldwide gross. On the plus side, at least this should encourage more and more female leads.

Atlantica, they are currently doing meet and greets at Disney California Adventure. If I see them and can convince my kids to pose with them, I'll upload pics to my Instagram account.

Same! Although I love the princesses, it's nice when Disney realizes that there is interest beyond just them.

I agree, I don't think Alice will make as much as it did previously, even though ironically enough it looks better than the first one.

It's interesting how the male-lead films such as Wreck-It Ralph and Big Hero 6 didn't gross nearly as much as Zootopia and Frozen. If Zootopia had had Nick as the main character rather than Judy, I wonder if that would have changed things.

Who knew that Zootopia would do this well? I originally thought it would struggle, having to go against the most-anticipated movie of the year.

I hope to see it sometime next week.

Zootopia crossed the $900m mark internationally last weekend.
Not to be outdone, Zootopia opened with $4 million in Japan, which is its final territory. The film scored the third-biggest Walt Disney Animation debut in said territory, behind Big Hero 6 and Frozen. More importantly, the film crossed the $900m mark worldwide, making it the second-biggest Disney animation release (sans reissues) ever, between The Lion King and Frozen. It is the eighth-biggest animated film of all time worldwide, having surpassed Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Next up is the $919m cume of Shrek 2 (in 2D and back in 2004). The animated gem has earned $316.4m domestic and $590.7m overseas for a $907.136m worldwide cume.

Will it make it all the way to a billion do you guys think ?

Ginnifer must be so thrilled .... Such a shame she's not on any social media any more. Feel like she'd be loving sharing in all the Zootropolis fandom.

Taken a long hiatus due to other interests/ busy life stuff. I saw this on honeymoon last week. Went in with very very low expectations. Did not fancy it all.

Well done Disney. It was really good and you reign at making animated foxes sexy. It took me a while to get into but it was excellent.
Settling Soul mates? That is grim. And I've played Monopoly alone.
