I think that an avatar and banner should only win if it was either made totally by you or edited by you to be different from the original images you took them from. So, many months late, I'm actually saying I'm not sure if the winner for banner of the year deserved it. Did they edit the picture from how it looked originally?

I think you're looking too much into this in my opinionDisney Duster wrote:I think that an avatar and banner should only win if it was either made totally by you or edited by you to be different from the original images you took them from. Goodness, being so busy at the time I never stopped in for the award ceremony! Congrats to all the winners
and a huge thanks for the award!

Nominations are based on the given categories, and as far as I can tell, no one has ever officially stated that the aforementioned awards are only for the best self-crafted/edited avatar or signature, just that they're simply for the best avatar and signature. If you're truly concerned about this, it should be brought up before the nominations are even made.Disney Duster wrote:I think that an avatar and banner should only win if it was either made totally by you or edited by you to be different from the original images you took them from.

I thought of it later. So you're basically saying because I said it late it doesn't count?

Yes. While you're certainly entitled to your opinion about who may or may not deserve an award, it's unreasonable to ask for the given rules to be changed after the fact simply in order to cater to your opinion. This year's awards are done. If you're still concerned over how the nominations and voting are carried out, it's something that needs to be addressed before the next set of nominations and agreed upon by those in charge of the ceremony.Disney Duster wrote:I thought of it later. And personally speaking, I find it in poor taste for anyone to question here whether or not one of our previous winners "deserved" to win their award in the first place.

No, I wasn't saying who won the award should be changed now. I was saying I am bringing up the problem now and yes, to be dealt with for the next awards.

Re: 9th Annual DVDizzy Forum Awards - CEREMONY
Duster, your suggestion cannot be enforced. First of all, it would be difficult to quantify how much photo manipulation is enough to warrant eligibility. Is a simple resizing enough? Is adding glitter enough? Second, it would be difficult to determine whether the avatars/sigs have been manipulated by the person using them or if they simply found them somewhere online. Third, if this new rule was imposed, there wouldn't be enough eligible entries to form the categories.
If this bothers you that much, I suggest next time you actually participate in the nominating and voting process to select the ones you deem worthy.

Re: 9th Annual DVDizzy Forum Awards - CEREMONY
This is very early, but I was just thinking about this and have to ask now. I haven't participated in the awards since I thought if you did you had to nominate and vote in all categories. But if you don't have to do all categories I may think about voting in some areas. So what's the rules on this?

You don't have to nominate and vote in all categories.

Did we miss a year? I've been keeping my avatar and banner for these awards...and I've had them for over a year now.

As with The Days of Wine and Roses, I think the Forum Awards are a thing of the past.Disney Duster wrote:Did we miss a year? I've been keeping my avatar and banner for these awards...and I've had them for over a year now.
