So, I live in Canada, and the Netflix selection is different here. I'm just now noticing how Disney has basically been dumping their 2015 releases onto the service. I was rewatching Inside Out on Netflix last night, I suddenly thought: wow, I'm streaming an Oscar-winning Pixar film that's less than a year old with the cheapest $7.99 Netflix account. Flim-watching really has changed. Seriously, the Disney selection alone here is worth the price of subscription.

Monkey Kingdom (which I only gave a chance because of Netflix. Greatly exceeded expectations for a nature documentary)

That is literally every theatrical Disney release from winter of 2015 until last summer. Plus, it has been announced we're getting The Force Awakens eventually, and I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting The Good Dinosaur and Bridge of Spies as well. They don't seem to be skipping out on anything.

As for other films (in no order, but I just wanted to point out that the first film that pops up in the "titles related to Disney movies" category that I'm drawing this list from is Fox's Anastasia, which amuses me):

I just wanted to ask any American Netflix subscribers how their Disney selection compares. Do you get recent films down there too? Or is is only a Canadian deal? I can't find any good comparisons online.

That must be only Canadian because we don't get any of those new movies. That's amazing that you basically got all of Disney's films from 2015 for $7.99. We have about the first half of the other titles you listed. No to the Lizzie McGuire Movie, Enchanted, Muppets, Ice Princess, Princess and the Frog, etc.

Treasure Planet, Chicken Little, tons of Disney Channel craptastic movies, The Rookie, are some others I have seen on the American Netflix; also, they had Pocahontas, Hercules, Mulan, Swiss Family Robinson and Old Yeller...not sure about now; ill check

Disney has a deal with Netflix Canada, allowing them to stream their films a number of months after the theatrical release and not long after the home video release. That's why they get a lot of the newer Disney films. They also have a similar deal with Paramount, 20th Century Fox and Mongrel Media (the Canadian distributor of Sony Pictures Classics and a couple of other indie labels).

Okay, that deal makes sense. I just astounded by how much the selection here has improved. 2 years ago, I used to be jealous of American Netflix. We didn't have any Disney movies for a long time while America did. American Netflix still seems to have a better selection for TV shows, however. Here in Canada, we have an abundance of streaming services just for TV shows, since cable companies like Bell and Shaw wanted to get into the streaming business. Meanwhile, Canadian Netflix does not seem to have any good competition in the film-streaming market.

I just can't wait until Zootopia pops on there in the latter half of 2016/beginning of 2017 so I recommend it to as many of my non-Disney-fan friends as possible. Netflix is so great for introducing films to people who would not have given them a chance in theatres or on DVD.
