WHYYYYYY can't they release this and the Aladdin series on DVD? Why??? I have most of TLM episodes taped somewhere, but I haven't seen the Aladdin show in years now. But, seriously, anything with Ariel slapped on the cover is going to sell--maybe not gangbusters, but it will.

They're both on youtube if you have access to that. That's how i get my fix of them. But I agree, this show wouldn't be hard to sell. Just like how the Disney Shorts Collection sold so well because Anna, Elsa, and Olaf were slapped on the cover. The same would go for Ariel.

Holy moly, this has got to be the oldest example of a cartoon being released in HD (and widescreen) to date right? It doesn't even appear cropped. Prior to this the oldest one I could think of was Kim Possible.
Are there any clips online? or dare I ask, full on rips?
If anyone is interested, I have the entire series in HD. I recorded the episodes from the Disney Channel. Thank God, they were presented in English, instead of Romanian (Romanian dubs for Disney films are god-awful ).
The show is also available like that on DisneyLife site. I hope other older Disney shows show up like this. Shame that you can't purchase the series in HD on iTunes.
I had a 30 day trial when the site first opened. I personally feel it is not worth £9.99 right now as I still wish that they would add more older cartoons from the 90s/00s.I'm not sure if they've added more as I can not check as my account has expired.
Ah I see. I was thinking about starting it up, but was unsure how easy it would be to cancel ? Also wanted to know if I could view on the TV using Apple TV, or if its device only ... ? Hugely tempted if TLM is on it, and I also wanted to watch Sofia the First as well, which I believe is on there ?
Unfortunately, it turns out the HD remaster of the show is cropped at the top and bottom. They also tweaked the title card (they shrunk the logo and put a more noticeable ripple effect).
Well, it’s not in Disney’s nature to just leave things alone.
I don’t think I would be able to get used to those colors. They look more “correct” (except for Ariel’s neon green fins), but the series’ use of green over blue for the water is stamped into my head. Eternal tears waiting for that DVD release...

Was hoping there would be news for a DVD release. I also wish DisneyNOW expanded to include more of their earlier TV shows like Aladdin, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Lilo & Stitch.

DisneyNow has added 5 episodes of the remastered version of The Little Mermaid show. In the article below, there's a series of comparisons between the TV and HD version based on those episodes. Apparently, Disney made more changes we hadn't noticed before such as retyping of text, for some reason. Give it a looksie.
