JONATHAN WHITESELL & KACEY ROHL are Hercules & Meg.

This is the best they could do for Hercules?

I was excited to see who Hercules would be, because I find him to be the hottest, cutest Disney male. This casting choice does not live up to my hopes...

The girl for Meg seems like a decent fit for me. Hercules is nothing like I imagined him to be though. They seem to be going for the younger 18 year old Disney version rather than the fully-grown Greek myth one.

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
Even though I would've preferred them to model him after the muscled version in the Disney movie, he's cute as hell, so I'm not complaining. JeanGreyForever's right that he's more similar to the younger Hercules (who is honestly the better-looking one...). Hercules is also one of my favorite Disney male characters, but they don't need to choose the actor based on the Disney design.
Other spoilers: Cruella is confirmed for the 100th episode (not sure if more than that). Also, strangely (in a good way), they have the Blind Witch from the Hansel/Gretel episode back. There's some speculation that Hercules and Megara might somehow be Snow/Charming's son and Zelena's child fast-forwarded? I doubt that, but who knows.

Do we know for a fact they are Herc and Meg ? Or is it just a very educated guess ?

well Im not crazy about who they supposedly cast for Hades either. We know the film has never been a priority for them, so i think they are only using Hercules in 5b b/c they have run out of adaptation options and they really need the underworld setting. The film's cast are just there b/c they know fans will bitch about where so & so is if they dont have them somewhere. This time its important these characters don't overshadow the tv show's cast.

Just when I thought that they couldn't botch up the family tree even more. Although strangely, I can see it working.Disney's Divinity wrote:

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
Yeah, I'm much more disappointed by Hades' casting, but he could turn out better than expected (I've seen that guy in a few other things). I personally like who they got for Hercules/Meg, who are likely to be minor characters like Merida anyway, but they have cast duds before (Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Prince Eric, etc.). I wonder if Poseidon'll show up in the Spring or not.unprincess wrote:well Im not crazy about who they supposedly cast for Hades either. I don't agree that they're out of options yet, although they're exhausted many of the best ones. I think they would've waited on the Underworld/mythology if it hadn't been convenient for cameos for the 100th episode. Jafar/Aladdin & Jasmine, the real Ursula, Narnia (if possible), the Fates of Greek Mythology, Dr. Facilier and/or "The Frog Princess," the Evil Fairy that the Blue Fairy talked about at the end of the Pan arc, possibly twisting some other well-known character like they did Pan (another god-character like Athena, perhaps), who knows. Not to mention a few other well-known fictional stories like Tarzan (although I don't think Disney has rights to use that story anymore...), Treasure Island, Mary Poppins, Sherlock Holmes, The Jungle Book, possibly something with Davy Jones or the Kraken from Pirates of the Caribbean (not to mention Calypso or several other mythological characters like Medea, Hera, Circe, etc.)--after they managed to pull off Cruella, I'd be open to it, anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if they also did more with Mulan, Cinderella, or Maleficent/Lily at some point.

Oh my if they use Mary Poppins or Pirates of the Carribean I think we know they have truly run out of characters
I could see a part of a season featuring The Black Cauldron and actually fitting in really well
Also I agree I think Maleficent and Lily are going to come into play at some point. They went off to find the father and what if the father is the dark fairy?

I thought of the Black Cauldron and the Horned King, but I don't think they'd use anything else from that story. Neither the Disney movie or the books are as known to most people the way most other things they've used are. Most people would probably react--Taran, Eilonwy, who...?disneyboy20022 wrote:I could see a part of a season featuring The Black Cauldron and actually fitting in really well

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
I loved the first hour and was looking forward to the second...only for it turn into nothing but a Brave-fest. %$%()**&^$#@! What a waste of time. It was nice to see Ruby and Mulan, even if they barely did anything. The actress for the Witch was really good (she looked just like Cyrus from Scandal?), but that's all I have to say about that.
I liked seeing Arthur and Zelena arguing, since Arthur does think of himself as a "good" person, while she's full-on evil. Dr. Whale getting slammed into the wall again.
I noticed Zelena's child was fast-forwarded to birth... I wonder if that might be setting up something else... I'm looking forward to Hook v. Rumplein the next week.
Too bad it's getting interrupted by the AMAs, hosted by the spokeswoman for the talentless, Jennifer Lopez.

I don't feel too bad about them skipping it next week, well mainly because WWE Survivor Series is on that night so I won't be wondering what I missed and have to watch it later.Disney's Divinity wrote:I loved the first hour and was looking forward to the second...only for it turn into nothing but a Brave-fest. %$%()**&^$#@! Why is it Hook suddenly learned the truth then went all evil, but before this he was perfectly just Hook. Now he's like you did this Emma, I HATE you or something.

I think he was faking it. The way he said it, "We have to take care of her...." and then Zelena turns around to look at Emma--I thought the second hour was going to open with him hitting Zelena over the head.disneyboy20022 wrote:Why is it Hook suddenly learned the truth then went all evil, but before this he was perfectly just Hook. Though why is he about to go seek vengeance against Rumple?
EDIT:

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
I dont get it.Both Emma and Hook are dark ones? how did that happen?! also why did Emma's healing suddenly stop working? Hook suddenly started gushing blood Tarantino style! what, it was just a cut? I swear this show sometimes...
I loved the second ep yesterday, I just adore the Merida actress and it was nice seeing Mulan and Ruby again.
I watch IZombie so it was weird seeing David Anders back on this show again... I love that they let him keep his Blane hair and they kinda lamp shaded it in the episode, lol.
and speaking of Anders, he would have made a great Hades!

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
Excalibur's wounds cannot be healed by magic apparently. Merlin said something about that when Hook started bleeding again. As for how Hook became a Dark One... I'm honestly trying to figure that out myself. Tethering him to the other half of the sword made him into a Dark One for some reason. I don't really get it, cause wouldn't that have made Merlin a Dark One when Zelena tethered him to the sword? I dunno, it is an interesting plot twist for sure!unprincess wrote:I dont get it.Both Emma and Hook are dark ones? how did that happen?! also why did Emma's healing suddenly stop working? Also what was up with Fergus and Elinor's casting choices? All the fake grey streaks in the world won't make her look older than Merida. And Fergus looked like a local drunk they dressed up and told do to an Scottish accent. The witch was dead-on though.
Was nice to see Whale again. Maybe iZombie can let Tinkerbell come do a few episodes too?

Yeah, Elinor was a badly cast and Fergus looked a bit too cartoon-ish...
I hope Ariel will cameo in the Spring, too. I read the actress who plays young Snow White will be back. Btw, I haven't heard anything about Ingrid--I'd love to see her one more time.

Ginny is pregnant !
Super happy for her
but I really hope it's not incorporated into the show this time, and they film around her a la Marcia Cross on Desperate Housewives.
Oh gosh and also hope it doesn't impact her screen time too again ... Or Snow really will disappear in the show.
Young Snow is also returning in the spring ! Yay !!!!!!

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
The first episode was soooo great! The Merida one...eh. But maybe it's just that, even though the actress is doing a good job, I don't really like her a lot. I like her some, but not a lot. And I really dislike Mulan. She's so angry and "tough" all the time, and even when she's not, that's supposed to be her character so I don't care that much when she's not acting like that.
And yea, like Disneyboy said, why didn't Hook act all evil since he was the Dark One? Or be all conflicted with it?. Also, for the next episode, why did Merida say she would destroy the helmet instead of giving it back? THE WITCH COULD HAVE JUST MADE ANOTHER ONE! Is Merida all brawn and no brains? lol No I don't think that I think the writers just messed up.
And why wasn't Merida's mother the queen after the King died?!
Disney's Divinity, I personally think older Herc is better looking than young Herc. Young Herc has no meat on him and his ears are so cartoonishly big. He looks altogether more cartoonish younger, actually. But he is cuter, actually, so I can see if you go for more cute than hot.
