Upcoming Disney live-action fairy tales

Post by azul017 »

In the midst of Disney reshuffling and dating more of their titles, no one took notice that they have dated several untitled live-action fairy tales:

Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (Live Action) - December 22, 2017
Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (Live Action) - November 2, 2018
Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (Live Action) - March 29, 2019
Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (Live Action) - November 8, 2019

The only films that come to mind that are in development are Mulan, Dumbo and a Maleficent sequel.

Any thoughts?

Am I the only one saddened that the only live-action "Disney" films shown are sequels (as in POTC, which I am looking forward to), and remakes-slash-sequels (don't know if they'll ever make a sequel to Cinderella (2015), but Maleficent & Alice are getting sequels)? :brick:  :headshake: :jawdrop: :glare: :smack:  :what: :eyebrow:  :biting:    :-? :-o :(

I'm more saddened that under the WDAS banner there are only characters from CG movies. It's really telling of how much Disney values hand-drawn animation and its legacy nowadays.

Or how about it's because everything is recent and they're focusing on that?

I'm shocked that WIR is even there, based on how they're 100% ignoring the movie.

I was surprised about that too, but it was a pleasant surprise. So glad to see Ralph and Vanellope over anything Tangled related. The live action category really doesn't interest me besides Cinderella. I would be game to see a sequel on Cinderella based on A Twist in Time (the 3rd Cinderella) or Twice Charmed (the show on the cruise lines which the third Cinderella is basically based off of).

They don't seem to have a problem with using older films like Up or Wall-E for their Pixar banner though.

Up and WALL-E aren't too much older though. The only recent 2D movies Disney could use would be The Princess and the Frog or Winnie the Pooh. The former isn't anywhere near as universally lauded as Up and WALL-E are, while the latter is forgotten anyway and most people would think it is representing the toddler merchandise brand.
