I've always regarded discussions like this, with some trepidation; because, sometimes, I think it is important to reassociate the artistic contribution of person with their personal moral/religious/afflications, etc. I say this because, in the case of Walt Disney, he has always had the reputation of being anti-semitic, homophobic, possessing conservative outlook that many time people allow to infringe on his work. Many great contributors to the arts and society, are many times tarnished because of such allegations or opinions. Personally, it is irrelevant to me, because, the one person who can full-heartedly give a truthful answer is dead(Walt Disney). Many times, I have used the various people who he personally sought out to contribute to a film's work. Mary Blair, Tyrus Wong, Tom Tryon, Roddy McDowell, Tommy Kirk, Floyd Norman, etc. are all important figures in several Disney productions, and they were personally connected to Disney...so, it surprises me that allegations are many times made like that.
