We need a proper "making/art of"-book of "Mermaid"
Considering that we've already gotten elaborate "making/art of" books of the former fairy tale films, we need a proper, elaborate "making/art of" book of "Mermaid". I know there was one published by it's re-release in 1997, but that one could've been better. Do you guys agree?
Re: We need a proper "making/art of"-book of "Mermaid"
Definitely! More than likely, within a year or two - especially if Beauty and the Beast does well - they'll announce they're doing a live action Mermaid. If so, I'm sure we'll get a book similar to the recent Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty ones, which are both fantastic.

To be honest, I consider the books for "Snow White" and "Beauty and the Beast" to be superior to the books for "Cinderella" and "Sleeping Beauty". I find the former more elaborate and professional. I'm not slamming the latter books, but I think they have much more praise than facts.
Re: We need a proper "making/art of"-book of "Mermaid"
Well, the Snow White one is on a totally different level. That one's a masterpiece. (Both of them, actually.) But the other three are all very similar to me, but I guess I can see the praise too. It may be because they were also made to promote the live action version, where Beauty and the Beast wasn't. Either way, even though they maybe aren't as perfect as Snow White, they're very nice - certainly the best we have for those films.

Disney should release books about the making of/art of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. Hopefully they will remake both as live action movies in the not to distand future, and then they can release books similar to the books about Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty/Maleficent. I hope that we get a book release when Mulan live action hit the cinemas as well. (Also, I so want them to announce live action Pocahontas, Hunchback & Hercules before this "fairytale live action" bonanza dies^^ (Really, if the can make a Mulan movie, then they could make movies out of almost all of their Reneissance films.)
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

It's only a matter of time before Disney release books about the making of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. By the way, today is a HUGE day for Pinocchio fans, finally we will have a decent art book for the film

Re: We need a proper "making/art of"-book of "Mermaid"
Disney has already released "Art/making of"-books of their 90's bunch. Those who were excluded were "Mermaid" and "Rescuers Down Under". Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind to see new books of those films, but I'm just stating the factsPrince Edward wrote:Disney should release books about the making of/art of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. you'll all laugh at me but I wish they made one for Oliver and Co. I know, fat chance that will ever happen but there's so little available on the making of that film which is a personal/sentimental favorite of mine. The best I get is the O&Co. section in the Disney Dogs art book.
as for LM I have the mini art book but yeah it really needs a major art book release.

I just ordered the Snow White book, by J. B. Kaufman from Amazon, and now I see there's one for Pinocchio as well.
Well, I guess I'll have to wait 'till my next paycheck to get that one as well. I love that cover.

Afreed. .this movie deserves a proper place amongst our already crowded bookshelves
The miniature edition was poorly executed. Also on my list to get a proper book: The E.N.Groove..shunned from art of books for over a decade now...

Hopefully with live action Beauty and the Beast they will re-release 'Tale as Old as Time' because I cannot afford it at its current price! Same with Art of Mulan book.
There is so many Disney books I want I'd better think about winning the lottery. My amazon wish list is a dark depressing place.

Yeah, how could they announce such a great book, and then never release it?! "The Art of the Forgotten Disney Princes". A bit ironic and really frustrating.unprincess wrote:also wish they'd release that book about Disney Princes/Heroes that got shelved.
Now that fairytales are popular again and Disney are not longer ashamed to be asocciated with making them, they could release this book - and include the new princes/heroes such as Edward (Enchanted), Naveen, Flynn, Kristoff and Hans...

the size and lack of detail/information has always upset me...
