Can someone explain why it is so freakin' difficult for Disney to have their characters drawn well and on-model for their home video releases? ~sigh~

Lol, it's pretty bad. :P

And apparently people couldn't read the original logo so Disney changed it.

There's still time to revise it.

Oh gosh ..... That's not good at all :(

Hopefully it's a mock up to be refined ? But there's so much blank dead space on it .... Seems a waste.

To be honest, I didn't thought it was that bad. Aladdin and Jasmine were off model, but I've seen worse.

I actually like the cover art and I'm really looking forward to this release. My only wish is for a 3D release...since Disney started 3D releases, my biggest want was Aladdin.

Wow, that cover's awful. Makes me pine for the days of VHS... I may just end up importing the U.K. Blu-ray of Aladdin anyway. It has the same transfer, better cover art, plus the added special features are sure to be fluff pieces at this point anyway...

So bummed we aren't getting a 3D release. Seems like Disney canned all the 3D combo packs. It really stinks! This movie would have looked so amazing in 3D!
I also got the Blu-Ray from over seas but I'm still getting this release as well. Hopefully there are some new bonus features or most of the previous features poured over from.. Wait who am I kidding?!  rotfl
I agree that is a ugly cover lol.

If you look at the photo at a much larger size:

It definitely looks fan-made. Iago looks like clipart.

I don't think it's fake, but I think this is a mock up cover, just like they did with The Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty covers.

Aladdin and Jasmine look high on the cover. And Jafar should be on there if Iago is. Hopefully they change it...

Argh! Aladdin and Jasmine look awful. It's pretty ugly all round.
I guess there is still time to revise it like they did with Ariel on TLM cover.

I'm in 2 minds about importing it. On one hand its my favourite film but I do own the UK version, the new special features are probably going to be very short and not really worth it (if there is any), but it might support bookmarks which the UK version doesn't.
Settling Soul mates? That is grim. And I've played Monopoly alone.

Cover aside, is the restoration even accurate? I was under the impression that the VHS and laserdisc were most accurate to the original colors while the DVD and Blu-Ray have the colors brightened. The most jarring example is Jasmine's outfit. It's light blue in the original but aqua/teal in the "restored" versions.

It's not as bad as the Greek cover of course.

This is the official cover because the main picture of Aladdin, Jasmine, and Abu are on the main log in Disney Movie Rewards website. I am with everyone, it's very ugly lol.
