i have bought the r3 dvd and i beg to differ...or maybe perhaps its because r3 dvds lack a few features..but its not as good as sleeping beauty.only one step ahead of the lion king dvd IN THE MAKING OF DEPARTMENT.contents wise..lion king has more.one thing im thankful for is that the production crew spent less time talking about the mulan phenomenon (if there were such thing) but more on the story, origin and technology.good job.

picture wise...the original film didnt require much clean up except for enhancement of color and there were no animation alterations..

there were two early presentation reel.one from 1995 and the other from 1996.

the much talked about shadow puppet sequence was only for a minute.not like the still i saw in the art of mulan book.the jackie chan music video is STUPID.the kung fu moves notwithstanding.and nope there were no trailers for the r3 release in malaysia.we have the same features as HK ..practically its all the same.only our packaging doesnt have the dragons surrounding the mulan logo.

the discs art for

disc 1. mulan holding crikee..an old artwork

disc 2. imperial city in red.

by the way...i bought the three musketeers..dont think that im a disney basher cause im not.but this movie doesnt give me any impact.still im buying the R1 for collection's sake.and i got a three musketeers jigsaw puzzle set with the three musketeers R3 and a mulan postal pad with cool pictures for the mulan dvd. i will try to show them if anyone's interested.

mulan 3 1/2 of 5 (dvd rating)
three musketeers C+ (movie rating)

Yes, it's 5.1!
As for the pictures, you need an online directory to store it. Can anyone here help with this one?

Hi akhenaten! If you do buy the R1 versions, can you please do a R3 vs R1 comparison? If there's no diff, I may just buy the R3 versions... Thanks!

oh i meant an apple-to-apple comparison of the R1 SE and R3 SE... and also the R1 musketeers and R3 version (if and when you do buy the R1s)... in terms of any extras, audio options etc, coz if the contents are the same, I'll go for the cheaper R3 :)

Here you have a few screencaps from the region 3 DVD but, unfortunately, they are very little.

By the way, does anybody know what this special box is about?

Sorry to latch this on here, but rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd throw it in here:

No Mulan 3

Dark Horizons posted some stuff on a industry bash the other night, and had this to say about Mulan:

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news04/040820a.php
"The gorgeous Ming Nah was there talking about Mulan and the upcoming Mulan 2, but said that as far as she knew, "there's no Mulan 3 but I'll do anything", adding that she originally tried voicing the classic Chinese character as a high-pitched teenager but was told to use her own voice. Alan Menkin, then Oscar winning composer of Aladdin, played a medley of songs from that film..."

This is sad I thought Disney would make Mulan 3 to make a trilogy.
I really want to see Mulan 3 why did Disney cancel this sequel.
