Favorite Character: Cinderella, the demure, warm, loving, sassy, firm, playful, humorous, graceful, beloved princess of mine. (Behind her, The Fairy Godmother and Lucifer)
Favorite Scene: Well, duh, it's when Cinderella's torn pink dress transforms into a big, beautiful silver gown, by magic Disney dust swirling around it. (Behind that, the pumpkin to coach transformation, the midnight transformation back, and "So This is Love")
Song: "Sing Sweet Nightingale". (Behind it, "So This is Love")
Wonderlicious wrote:I think a lot of illustrated versions of the either present her too much as a youthful mythical creature (like a folkloric fairy) or as a sort of old crone/good witch, so I like the design/costume balance between the two extremes.
I love her design, too. I hooded cloak is rather new, unique costume for her. It lends to her mystery with the hood and theatricality with the sleeves. In the new live-action version, the Fairy Godmother also has a design between a young and beautiful fairy and an older woman wearing what a normal person might wear in her time, sans the jeweled stars. I actually love it more than the original animated design, but to me the original animated design is perfect to the film it's in.
