Character: Scar. Mufasa and Rafiki are the only other characters I like, tbh. Well, Zazu and the hyenas are kind of hilarious. Nala’s okay, too, but a bit bland.
Song: “Circle of Life,” though I’m not huge on any of them.
Scene: There’s a lot of climactic scenes, so it’s hard to choose. I think the death scene is probably the most effective. However, I love the Mufasa-ghost scene and the ending.

Character: Scar. Like Cruella in 101 Dalmatians, he's of a much higher quality than the other characters. Andreas Deja's design of him is good (although his designs of Jafar, Hercules, et cetera, are much better), but it's the voice of Jeremy Irons that makes Scar memorable. However, he's rather overrated.
Scene: Mmm...probably the climax, despite the slow-motion silliness. Or maybe the stampede scene, not because of the forgettable Mufasa's death, but because of the excellent animation (including a vertigo shot).
Song: 'Be Prepared'. It might not be entirely necessary when it comes to the plot, but it's very enjoyable, and one of the best parts of the movie.

Character: Scar.
Song: Be Prepared.
Scene: Be Prepared. Also Mufasa talking to Simba about their kingdom, their ancestors and the circle of life, sitting on the top of Pride Rock.

Scene: Roaring in the Rain (no idea what the scene is called
), and Running through the Desert (this was my favorite scene growing up, and it still would be, but it's SO short).
Song: "The Circle of Life." I think everyone has their own version to the Swahili lyrics, and that's part of the beauty of it.

character: Scar, but Timon is very close and I like Simba as an adult a lot.
scene: Hmm, really not sure. Maybe Scar playing with the mouse. All of Scar's scenes are awesome. And I'm not one who ALWAYS chooses the villains for fave character.
song: Can You Feel the Love Tonight (I just love to listen to this one, I think it's really beautiful; However, this entire soundtrack is so awesome and one of the main reasons I love the film)

Character: Nala, Scar, and Rafiki. I was never big on Simba, the cub version being kind of bratty and the adult version being somewhat bland and flaky; maybe it's just Matthew Broderick's vocal performance.
Scene: The stampede/death of Mufasa (outstanding musical score really elevates this sequence -- which is already fantastic -- to a whole 'nother level); the shot of Simba running through the desert back to the Pride Lands; Rafiki kicking hyena asses with his kung fu moves.
Song: "Be Prepared" tops them all, but I really like the rest of the songs in the film (save for "Morning Report"; that one should have stayed deleted).

Re: Favorite Character, Scene, and Song in The Lion King
I remember hating Matthew Broderick as Simba, too. Come to think of it, I've disliked Matthew Broderick's characters in most films of him I've seen. I don't know why, he seems like a really nice person.
Nothing's really changed from my first response. What's odd going from Tarzan's thread to this is that I generally prefer Elton John to Phil Collins, but I enjoy Tarzan's soundtrack to TLK. I find the TLK musical additions are better than most of the songs in the film, actually. Any way, my worsts, for something else:
Character: Timon. Pumbaa actually doesn't bother me, for whatever reason? It's really Timon because he's such a jerk (I had a less appropriate word in mind).
Scene: The scenes just following "Hakuna Matata," about stars in the sky and Nala finding Simba, etc.
Song: "I Just Can't Wait to Be King." Although I think the humor with Zazu is pretty funny, the song itself is irritating. And coming just before the elephant graveyard scene, it sticks out as a sore thumb.

Re: Favorite Character, Scene, and Song in The Lion King
Character: Scar - He seems weak and pathetic in the second half but he's one of the most charismatic and memorable villains, thanks to Jeremy Irons' creepy voice and one of the most brutal acts of evil in Disney history
Scene: The stampede/Mufasa's death - such great tension and scoring. I get nervous every time even though I know what's going to happen.
Song: "Be Prepared" - It's a great villain song, but I'm not a huge fan of this soundtrack. I prefer listening to the African-influenced elements in the score.

Re: Favorite Character, Scene, and Song in The Lion King
Character: Simba (I think that he's such a multi-faceted character: carefree, learning kid to the trauma of Mufasa's death and Scar's blaming him, to his carefree adolescence and early adulthood, to fighting for his family/love and making Pride Rock a better place!), and Nala (she had a similar childhood to Simba's, and had to grow up in an atrocious world, ruled by Scar; she always had loved Simba, and she had to deal with the excitement and disappointment of seeing him again as adults (because she loved him, but was sad that he wouldn't rightly claim his place as ruler), to starting to have the happily-ever-after.
Scene: Elephant graveyard, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," and Nala's confrontation of Simba. Scar's and the hyenas' scenes are great, too.
Song: "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," although "Circle of Life" gives me chills
