Sorry for asking this again but..when did this figure become so expensive?

I mean, one thing is the exclusives and chasers. That´s a given. But why do regular figures must become expensive simply because Funko has discontinued them. Why don´t they just start selling them again?

I mean...the whole idea behind these figures is that they popular, cheap and easy to get. Why funko hasn´t done something about it?

Funko did a rerelease of two previously retired figures(The Riddler and The Penguin) in Australia and it pissed off a lot of collectors.

Another reason they might not rerelease a character or retire a popular character is due to the license expiring. On Disney I believe it is not jsut one license they purchase and can release whoever they want, but they have to go thru and get rights individually for each movie or characters.

 @ the pissed off collectors. The only people I can imagine were pissed off were those people who buy up merch just to sell it overpriced to others who actually want them. They deserve to have salt in their wounds.

Wow, that reminds me of another diehard Glee hater who pisses on people's graves...who happens to visit this site, too.

Although I'm not much of Glee fan anymore, I've watched shows long past others' interest before so I sympathize. Honestly, I wish these had started around 2010. Maybe it would be more likely for me to get Desperate Housewives pops then, too. :(

Still disappointed we didn't get any Into the Woods pops, or any merchandise for that matter. A Pop (and a Disney Store doll  ) of the transformed witch could have been amazing.

Here is where I stand currently in my pop collection. It's primarily all the villains minus a few I don't really care that much about.

Maleficent
Maleficent (Jolie)
Cruella
Ursula
Jafar
Wicked Queen
Captain Hook
Chernabog
Scar

I'm definitely getting Mother Gothel and Facilier if they make those in the upcoming sets. I would love a Lady Tremaine (though I can see them making a Cate Blanchette version coming up, and that'd be hard to pass up) as well as Hades and Yzma.

Other Pops I hope they make that I'd be SUPER tempted to get:

Arrested Development - Lucille Bluth (I am ASTOUNDED they didn't make her in the first wave)
Hocus Pocus - I can't see the image of the concept art, but the sisters would be must haves!
Glee - I couldn't resist Kurt and Blaine Pops.
30 Rock - Unlikely, but a Jenna Maroney Pop would excite me incredibly.
The Devil Wears Prada - Miranda Priestly, that's all.
101 Dalmatians - Glenn Close (you never know)
The Golden Girls - Come on!
Saturday Night Live - Random, but Kristen Wiig as "Sue the Surprise Party Lady" would make my life.

Okay, maybe for my organization and space-saving sanity, it's better not to have these. :P

I don't think I'd buy any SNL pops, but Bill Hader as Stefan would be so cute to me. I'm sure The Golden Girls will get made eventually. There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for them from what I've seen, and it's a one-set-and-done deal. I have to admit the sisters from Hocus Pocus would be very tempting for me since I grew up on that movie + I love Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy. Tbh, I wouldn't mind a couple of real people in pop form, mostly singers.

I'm not a huge Mary Poppins fan, but I saw someone on the funko forum suggest a variant of Mary in the white dress during "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and I admit, that would be really neat.

Thank you for your responses.

Still, I feel Funko should do something about it...whatever they can. It´s not fair for the couple of reasons mentioned above:

-the whole idea of Funko it´s to get these figures cheap.
-these figures are not worth those expensive prices anyways. I mean, we´re getting an interpretation of a character, small size, vinyl and basically no articulation. If we were talking regular action figures then Ok. But this is not.

I get it when they loose their licenses (and still, they could show the companies the prices the figures are selling so they can see there´s money to be made there). But, when not?

For example: Green Arrow. Funko does have the license for DC. So, why not release again this figure? We all know how popular Arrow is (and yes, we´ll be getting Pops of the series) and people would like to get it.

This. When Two-Face, Riddler and the Penguin were re-released in Australia, I was flat-broke and couldn't afford to get any of them, but it made me happy to know that potential Two-Face, Riddler and Penguin fans maybe did. I got people jumping on me on the Funko Forum for criticizing their incessant bitching about the 'unfairness' to 'collectors' over the situation. My view of the situation is: These are stupid, silly little toys designed to be cheap and sit on a shelf. If you're seriously buying them as an investment for your kids' college tuition, then you're no smarter than the people who did the same thing with Beanie Babies or comic-books in the 90s. And if you're doing this as a get-rich-quick scheme to turn over retired figures for scalped prices, I have no sympathy for you any way. But, I had people jumping all over me for suggesting that these were just cheap pieces of crap with poor paint jobs... (And I LIKE Funkos! But, let's get REAL, here...) Ironically, in another topic on the same forum, this one about the poor paint jobs and all that, several of the SAME posters who were tearing into me for calling them cheap toys were tearing into OTHER people for complaining about the the paint-jobs using the logic, "They're just toys." So. Yeah. The Funko forum has its own share of crazy, just like anywhere else, I suppose.

-I'm still upset I never got Two-Face, by the way. But there is no way in HELL I'm paying more than $13 for one of these things.

I just got Shere Khan and Maleficent!

Went today to my Comic Book Store for the comics of the month knowing I´d be getting Shere Khan since they´d have him last time and I just could afford Kaa. However, I was told there were many available.

When I was about to pay saw Maleficent and just had to get her at the moment. Why? Last time I made a choice between Evil Queen and her. So, got the first of course. From then on I had to wait from August till today to get her. I wasn´t going not to get her now and regret it later if she got sold.

...these days the store is full of regular people (not usual customers) buying gifts and with the success of the movie I´m pretty sure she won´t last long.

Have to say:

Shere Kahn: I´m amazed. Being him a feline I´d thought he´d have a similar body as Scar but that isn´t the case. And, on top of everything, he´s meant to sit sideways.

Not only I´m extremely happy because he´s that different but also because you don´t feel like you "wasted" your money on a "repaint". He feels like another figure.

Maleficent: Didn´t expect her to be that cool. In fact, one of the reasons I went for the Evil Queen last time was because she had more going on her. But Maleficent, as simple as she is goes a long way. It´s hard to explain. She´s just amazing; and that´s saying something being her one of the first releases.

Now, I´m just waiting to get Captain Hook and wait till Prince John is available to have them all...that is, until Funko decides to make more villains. And I´m sure (did I read it before) that we´ll be getting a Cinderella set with the upcoming live action version. That means sets for the animated movie as well as the live action. I mean, if they didn´t release them before now has to be the time.

When that happens, just like with Sir Hiss, I´ll just be getting Lady Tremaine since I just want the main villains.

Regarding the collector´s feel about releasing figures again... What´s the big deal? If they were chases then yes. But if they´re not why get upset?

My sister got Robin Hood for me for my birthday the end of last month, and it came in the mail yesterday. :D Robin Hood was never on my wants list, but the main character turned out so well that I wanted to get him. I think it's really odd they only had a set of 3 when a set of four would've been enough to release Maid Marian and be done. (Although I'd like Lady Cluck, I know RH is one of Disney's movies that doesn't get much attention.)

I haven't seen Robin Hood in person yet, but I did get Sir Hiss and love him. I couldn't pass him up. He's such an obscure character, even among Disney fanatics, that I had to have him. (I've got the really nice plush the Disney Store put out several years ago, too!) I'm definitely going to get Prince John (which I have seen, and think turned out great) as soon as I get the money. Honestly, even though the film isn't one of my favorites, I think Robin Hood has one of the best casts in the canon. They're all distinct and recognizable, they all have great designs and a lot of appeal. It's a shame the film is kind of a snooze, because it's got a lot going on. I honestly wouldn't mind a Robin Hood Series 2: Little John, Maid Marian and the Sheriff of Nottingham. I think the film warrants at least those. (Anybody else think it funny that ROBIN HOOD currently has more POP figures than Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid and Aladdin? Because I kind of do.)

Yes, it's rather strange considering how Disney usually treats RH in comparison.

I'm actually surprised they didn't have the 2nd series of Frozen out by the end of this month, and pictures for some of next ones (ideally Pocahontas/Mulan), since all the new things are listed as "early 2015." Well, I guess we did get the pictures for the pops going with the new Cinderella movie. :what:

(Off-topic, but just having learned about Digimon Adventure tri gives me hope that the DA characters might actually get made into pops someday! :D )

I didn't see anything about that over at the funko forum, but...

Blue Dress Ariel! But I'd actually rather have King Triton and Prince Eric first....( ), but I'll take it. Also glad that they'll be doing Blue Dress Mulan! Besides that, the only one I'm excited for is Dr. Facilier. Is Tiana going to have Frog Naveen on her hand? That'd be nice; I'm not crazy about her blue dress, but I probably would get it anyway; I'm not getting a separate frog pop though. I'm not sure about Mushu, it'll have to depend on how he turns out. I can't believe they aren't doing Gothel and Shan-Yu though.

Even though I like KFP, the only character I'd really want as a pop is Master Oogway or perhaps the villain from the second film.

Facilier is a must have, but I, too, am surprised that Gothel and Shan-Yu didn't make it... Are they going to get the Hans treatment, you think? Overlooked at every opportunity. I'm not a huge fan of either character, but it'll be disappointing for the villain line-up to have gaps in it...

Tiana in her wedding dress!!!!! Now I'll be satisfied if I have to wait several years before they come back to TP&TF. Louis looks so hideous; why couldn't they have done wedding Naveen or Charlotte or Mama Odie, anybody.

I may actually get Mushu & Cri-Kee, they look so cute. I'm sure Mulan will get more in the future, but I would've so liked to have Shang and Shan-Yu. I'll pass on Aurora until they do her blue dress or Briar Rose. I hope Rapunzel turns out a little bit better than that picture, but I'm most likely getting her.

With the OUAT pops, I'll have to wait on how they look fully-done. Regina and Rumpel look to be great.

Not to mention Gaston and Lady Tremaine (and stepsisters). I'm sure they'll get to them in the future, but we have to resign ourselves to the fact that the princesses will come first (probably in all their iterations).

Agreed, the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine are a must.

But why can't they at least do their research on character names? The cricket from Mulan has a name. It's Crikee. :|

Thrilled with the OUAT Pops. Though I wish Hook's beard wasn't pointed at the edges.

Glad to see they are going the "Mrs. Potts & Chip" route with some of these characters and including the side-kicks at a smaller size. Hope to see a new Ariel pop (without that ugly flower she wears for all of two minutes) that includes a Flounder mini. Maybe Triton and Sebastian, Usula with Floatsam and Jetsam and Eric and Scuttle? Little Mermaid just lends itself to the mini sidekick thing so well. Pocahontas could come with Flit, John Smith with Meeko and Radcliffe with Percy too! So many possibilities.

Was really hoping to see a new Sleeping Beauty line, but with Aurora included under the general Disney label, I'm doubting that will happen. Can't wait to see the whole catalog this weekend. I'm sure there will be more Disney reveals.
