Unflattering Parody of Walt Disney (Person)

Post by McNikk »

Just thought I would share this to see what people think:

I personally am already aware of some inaccuracies and exaggerations but a lot of it is more for comedic effect. It occurs to me though that some people do view him more or less like he is in this video. Any thoughts?

Umm.... this is pretty damaging. And often inaccurate.

First off, it's not very funny. The problem is, most of it is BASED on true facts, but twisted in an unflattering way. And the average person doesn't know enough about Walt Disney to discern what is true about this performance. Sadly, it's fun (for some) to tarnish a beloved public icon.

I'm so tired of the Walt Disney hate. Ok, WE GET IT! He was racist. Yes, a couple of the movies are racist, but that was because they were made in the 40s-60s. He was a Communist. He hated Jews, blacks, & women, and eventually hired them (Which is not completely true). He could be a major *you know what* (Believe me, I know Bill Peet’s great nephew) Blah, blah, blah.

We get it. We heard this over & over again. People are clearly doing this to ruin our childhoods & Disney movies. (“HEY! The crows on Dumbo are racist…the guy who is behind Cinderella & When You Wish Upon a Star is a Communist and he hated women. HAHAHAHAHA, CHILDHOOD RUINED. YOU GOTTA HATE DISNEY NOW.”)

Like, are we going to point out that Mr. Rogers is a sniper? Or Edison always stole people’s ideas, including the lightbulb? Nope, the only guy we need to destroy is someone who made everyone’s childhoods through numerous of movies, theme parks, and lots of music & an industry that is getting back on its feet. Not to mention, he pretty much made animation a film genre (With the feature-length movies, shorts were around long before him).

Leave Walt alone and let it go!
