I guess this is what Ella's wedding dress will look like?

Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)
So I'm looking over the images and stills for this movie, and I'm noticing that in addition to the butterfly motif, there seems to be a flower theme as well.
Several of the sets have something to do with flowers or nature.
The stepfamily has flowers all over their dresses, both "casual" and their ball wear. (Even their jewelry is flower-themed).

The Prince has that dapper green suit with floral designs.
And now it seems that Ella marries in more sophisticated dress with floral embroidering.
Perhaps it's a theme? That on the outside anyone can be a flower but the only butterfly among them (both with her gown and her personality) is Ella?
Or maybe I'm over thinking this, considering flowers are common decor pieces...

Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)
I would like Ella's wedding dress if it had better looking flowers on it. It also kind of follows my idea for my design of Cinderella's wedding dress for the musical of Disney's Cinderella I want to make. But I love the prince's outfit and all the others (still wish Cinderella's ballgown had the poofy material at the sides of the waist!).
That face-mold of Ella really looks like her! And it seems the Fairy Godmother will appear in two different styles? I hope it means she will be more active in the film and in Ella's life!
Interesting theory Warm Regards. I think the flowers are just there because they represent beauty and femininity, there are a few floral designs in the original animated film, but the idea that everyone can be flowery but only Cinderella can be like a butterfly is a beautiful idea and it may be the idea they are going for.

Disney store will also release a limited edition Cinderella doll.
This Mattel doll looks much better than the regular Disney store version.

Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)
The flower pattern on Ella's wedding dress seem to resemble the flowers that were on her mother's dress and on the dresses Ella wore as a toddler and as a child (in the trailer). I think flowers and nature will be major themes in this film, in addition to butterflies.
I also hope the blue dress the fairy godmother doll has on also means the fairy godmother has a bigger role in this movie!

The dolls on the left are Mattel, on the right Disney store(i guess), hence different colourstsom wrote:I also hope the blue dress the fairy godmother doll has on also means the fairy godmother has a bigger role in this movie!
I'm sooo in love with the Mattel doll dress of Cinderella, looks even better then the movie version

Yea, like I hope, too, tsom! But toky, are you sure? Because the doll on the left, by Mattel, looks to have the same face mold as the Disney Store doll. The Mattel ballgown doll has a different face mold. And the Fairy Godmother's right blue dress is...quite different. The material at the sides of her dress is pinned so it's round at the top and flows straight at the bottom. It wasn't like that in the trailer, let alone blue in the trailer.Toky wrote:The dolls on the left are Mattel, on the right Disney store(i guess), hence different colourstsom wrote:I also hope the blue dress the fairy godmother doll has on also means the fairy godmother has a bigger role in this movie! So HBC will wear the dress seen in the trailer.
Yea, it kinda does! lolToky wrote:I'm sooo in love with the Mattel doll dress of Cinderella, looks even better then the movie version

Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)
I'm sure...the Mattel dolls look different, look at Lady Tremaines skincolor...Of course i can't say that HBC will only wear one dress, but this just looks like the dolls on the right are a much cheaper version of the characters...even the hair color is different(it was the same with the Oz dolls)Disney Duster wrote: are you sure? Edit: the mattel dolls dont have RDC on them (Isn't that btw another brand then the Disney store, i believe they had Oz dolls too, which didn't look good either)
Double edit: never mind, it stand for Radio Disney Club x)

Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)
Oh, I think you're right toky, because the only ones that don't say RDC on them are the ones that look different from the other dolls. So does Disney Store's Fairy Godmother just look like that because Disney's opposed to white on a doll other than a wedding dress, just like they don't make the Walt Disney's Cinderella's ballgown white/silver? Because they think color, as opposed to white, attracts little kids more?
I think the Disney Store stepmother doll should have been in a different gown. Her ballgown or one of her "regular, at home" dresses. Maybe there will be one.
Tsom, you may be right in Cinderella's wedding dress flowers kind of looking like the ones Ella's and her mother's dresses had when they were young (and happy). Too bad I really didn't like those flowers...

It definitively seems that this movie is more in sync with Walt's original film.

Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)
Great find, thanks Amy!
I love the photos. Cinderella really is finding the joy she can in her troublesome life.
Hey, one thing has bugged me about this movie, though. In the trailer the Prince says, "I hope to see you again, Miss", and Cinderella says, "And I you." But...they're falling in love. It may even be love at first site. You don't just let that get away! So I think the Prince should have said, "I'll arrange a way for us to meet again. At the palace", and if he's pretending to only be an employee at the palace, he could add, "I'll persuade the King." Because he'll ask the King for the ball. Or better yet he could say to Ella, "I'll get them to throw a ball at the palace, for everyone to be invited." Or something, you know? In the original film, when Cinderella has to leave, the Prince even says, "How will I find you?!"

Re: Disney's Live-Action Cinderella (2015)
To be fair, they just met. It would be kind of creepy and forward to immediately make plans to meet again. In the animated film, I imagine Cinderella and the prince spent hours together at the ball, so it was appropriate for him to say, "How will I find you?" In this film, it seems that they only spent a couple of minutes conversing. Also, we only saw snippets of the scene, so there might be more to it than what we saw in the trailer.

I think if they feel love already, it is not creepy to make plans to meet again. The prince could even say, "If you would like to..." or "If you agree..." You just don't let love go. Even just the startings of love. These days, we even ask, "Can I get your number?" or "Would you care to go out?" rather quickly sometimes. But you're right, we haven't seen the whole scene.

That wedding dress IS beautiful! There we go!
I hate the style of illustration for the illustrated books, but I'll buy 'em anyway because I love Disney's Cinderella in any form...
I think I wish Cinderella's ball dress and hair were almost exactly like the Mattel doll's now. I wonder if toky and others agree...

Now I'm definitively going to see this movie after seeing those pictures. It seems like they've paying more homage to Walt's classic (I know I'm repeating myself, but just to state that I'm more convinced).

What a wonderful dress, and the prince is also beautifully dressed! This movie looks better and better with each new image released.

haha I do agree, the doll-dress looks more 'silver-ish' and shiny and the hair even more braided.. which I loveDisney Duster wrote: I think I wish Cinderella's ball dress and hair were almost exactly like the Mattel doll's now. I wonder if toky and others agree...
The wedding dress looks lovely on Lily and even though it looks nothing like the movie wedding dress, it's beautifully done and kept simple.
