Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
It goes along with being the Dark One. Basically you have to use the dagger to kill the current Dark One and then you become the Dark One (which is what Rumple did in Season One, I think). Similarly, whoever holds the dagger, controls the Dark One. Rumple is looking to break the rules so that he can still be the Dark One, but not be controlled by whoever holds the dagger.

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
Rumple's complete reversion to evil this season has annoyed me. Makes all that character development they gave so much air time to seem for naught. I do feel like Rumple will end up sucked into that hat before the end of the season, but whether that means his end or not is unknown. I'd also love to see Belle kill him with the dagger and become The Dark One. I don't think Disney will allow that to happen, but it would be a super interesting plot twist.
I'm happy to see the Frozen story line winding down, but I must admit I am going to miss Anna. Elizabeth Lail has been doing such a fantastic job in the role. If Disney would lighten up on the "you can't change anything about these characters" restriction they have placed on the show I would love to see her hang around. Just get her a change of clothes already. Her and Elsa must posses extreme deodorant magic, otherwise those dresses must be getting a little bit funky.

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
I actually like the current storyline with Rumpel. I never really thought of him as getting better, so much as trying not be flat-out evil for the sake of his son. I guess it turns out he cared about changing more for Baelfire's sake than Belle's.
I had actually read something about Robert Carlyle's contract being up at the end of the season? I'm not sure if that's true. Either way, I hope he won't leave the show.

Wow, I believe that was one of the best episodes of the series, imo. Love loved the ending.
Also loved some of Snow White's dialogue this episode, like admitting she didn't feel bad about killing Cora and "I WAS TEN!!"
Nice to have a taste of season 1 Regina again, too.
I can't wait for the show to return, to see what's coming next with Rumpelstiltskin.
EDIT: Oh, wait, there's another episode next week.
I missed the preview! Bah.

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
First of all, one of the best episodes of the entire series period, then we got a great taste of Season 1 Regina which was so cool. Then Ingrid's redemption is better thought out than I thought it was going to be and she had her "happily ever after", then the preview comes on and Cruella, Ursula, and Maleficent appears and Maleficent has a new "Angelina Jolie re-design" which is much better than the old design.

Thanks.

Cruella looks perfect. I'm skeptical about Ursula at the moment...really hoping they do that character justice, please!

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
Spoilers for tonight's episode, read at your own risk:
The Frozen story line really has been one of the top arcs this show has ever done. I'm going to be sad to see Anna and Elsa leave next week. Anna especially. If she and Kristoff decided to move to Storybrooke I would not mind at all. I hope they pop in from time to time. It really is amazing that this turned out so well considering it was a pretty much last minute thing to do a Frozen arc. I remember when Elsa came out of that urn last season, I was just groaning and repeating "really?!", but the writers hit a home run here. Sad that Ingrid had to die as I would have gladly seen her stick around or pop up here and there. Elizabeth Mitchell did a great job. Also I really want to see Olaf greet them all when they get back. Just one quick cameo. He's the only Frozen character we haven't seen yet. If I can believe in Rock Trolls and cursed candelabras, I can believe in a talking snowman for a few seconds.
I hope they wrap up the Sorcerer's Apprentice story next week. I feel like Rumple is somehow going to bring our new trio of evil ladies to Storybrooke. I hope they aren't in the hat since that would make no sense with Maleficent having already been on the show (and seemingly died, but I'm sure that will be explained in some way). Cruella looks fantastic. Maleficent of course got a more Angelina inspired outfit then she had before. Not sold on Ursula, but we really haven't seen much of her yet. I hope they make her look better than Reginsula did last season. Those tentacles were some of the worst TV CGI I have ever seen. I doubt we will see her in her true form much, but when we do I pray it will be more visually appealing.
Hook better not die. David and Robin have been looking better this season, but I'm still all about that guy liner.
Loved seeing Season One Regina again. That fight must have been so fun to film.

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
I really liked the ending, Im a sucker for that kind of villain sacrifuice/redemption storyline...I teared up when Ingrid was reunited with her sisters in the after-life.
regarding Rumple, I think he may be the next male lead to get the ax. He's the oldest and least traditionally attractive of the 3 main male leads and Im sure as usual the writers have plans to bring on the next hot guy for their female audience to fangirl over. He'll join Graham, Bucky and August in the "we used to be important characters until we got offed for the next stud-muffin" club.
it sucks that they're basically ruining his character so they can justify killing him off...

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
Rumplestiltskin is too big a player, one of the originals, to go away…so I hope he doesn’t, even though I wish his character wasn’t so badly written now, either.
This was a really great episode! Truly touching in the end, with everything that happened. My depression has made me…less emotional these days for who knows why or how, but I managed to feel an emotional chill for Ingrid’s sacrifice and rejoining with her sisters. But am I the only one who thought it was bad no one really tried to stop her from killing herself? They tried a little but hardly at all. But I guess it was the only way she could be with her sisters again, which she wanted so much (to be with them in a loving way). It was also great with what happened with the note from the bottle for Anna and Elsa and their parents.
WAIT A MINUTE...so if the note in the bottle said all it did, does that mean Gerda and the King were going to try and get something to stop Elsa's powers (I forget what...the sorcerer's hat, right?), but they changed their minds when the storm was going to kill them...?
Also, why was Anna immune from the spell of Shattered Sight like Emma and Elsa?
The girl playing Anna is doing a really good job. She’s just like Anna from the movie, except this time, to me, she is less annoying and actually funny…sometimes. Elizabeth Mitchell was really good.
I don’t think equal hate should have been what destroyed the magic love ribbons Emma and Elsa wore. I think it should have been equal love, as in love is stronger than hate. You guys can say that’s not true, but come on, it’s a fairy tale and we want to teach hopeful messages in them.
I’m so glad my two top favorite villainesses are coming in the second half of the season!

We may have another Disney Princess coming: Tiana
http://tvline.com/2014/12/10/nashville- ... ity-leave/“The ABC series [Once Upon a Time] is seeking an African-American actress to guest-star as “Miranda,” a 19- to 22-year-old princess. Described as ” warmhearted and passionate,” this lass wants nothing more than to bring peace and beauty into the world. Yet beneath her gentle exterior, she is headstrong and full of grit – so if you cross her, you may find her more terrifying than even the most powerful kings. Did I mention she has a lovely singing voice, as well?”

Hmmm certainly seems to be a code name ! Or maybe its just a new character and they've pinned 'Disney Princess' to her name ? But Adam has been very vocal about his love of her character, so who knows ?
The lady playing Cruella has a lot to live up to after Glen Close portrayed her so effortlessly …. and I'm glad of the Maleficent revamp to look like the movie, as I thought she looked a bit of a mess before.

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
While I do prefer the revamped design for Maleficent way over the old one back some seasons ago, I'd honestly rather them not bring Maleficent back to the show. Especially now that I've seen that 2014 film. They've already screwed her character up as it were.
Don't need them basing Maleficent off of Angelina Jolie now.

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)
I think the actress looks silly with the horns, but maybe it'll be better once I see her in show. But it wouldn't matter, since OUAT's Maleficent seemed pretty different from the Disney character long before Maleficent was released anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if they borrow a couple details from Maleficent's story, but overall I think Maleficent's plot thread is going to have little to do with either Maleficent or Sleeping Beauty here. I imagine she'll be out to roast Regina, Charming, Emma, Hook, Robin Hood, and Rumpel alive; I don't think they'll be bringing Stefan into this, Aurora/Phillip possibly as a cameo but probably not central. I suppose that's why the guy from the Wonderland show is there, since he was with Hood when they robbed Maleficent's fortress.
You know, I just had a random thought. Even though I like Hook/Emma, I was just thinking how weird it is that her love interest and Regina's weren't reversed. I remember when Hook first appeared on the show, I initially thought they were building him up to be Regina's romance considering how much chemistry they had when he broke into her tower to find Belle. I guess they just wanted to go the opposites attract direction.
Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if that is Tiana since they've used codenames before. I won't mind, since she's one of my favorite princesses. Actually, I wonder if they might connect her to Ursula somehow. There was a theory on another forum, which in some ways compares to an idea for Ursula I had a while back, that Cruella and Ursula were both sorceresses in Misthavon and/or under the sea, but were banished to the real world where there was no magic for them to harm others by being sucked into the hat by the sorcerer. They theorized that Rumpel gets sucked into the hat himself by Hook, his magic is taken by the hat while he ends up magic-less in the real world, and then brings Cruella and Ursula back with him or unintentionally leads them there on his way back. If that's the case, perhaps that's how Tiana would be drawn in, since she should be from the real world like Wendy or Alice if they don't change everything. Perhaps they might relate Ursula to Facilier or Odie in some way, possibly by using shadows since she didn't have magic to rely on. That would also be a way to make Cruella both a threatening sorceress, but still the fashionable character from the movie. I hope they keep Cruella's cigarette, btw, even if the smoke is done with CGI. I hope Ariel cameos, too, and I want to at least see Triton even if Ursula's focused on something else at the moment.
