Different ways to watch the movies: suggestions?
I´d like to try new ways in which to watch the Disney animated movies.
Besides watching the ones you want when you want of course...I´ve tried (and did) doing them in chronological order. So, is there another way you guys can suggest?

Re: Different ways to watch the movies: suggestions?
- chronological/reverse-chronological order - because chronological order can get a bit tedious sometimes, you spice things up. You start with Snow White, then continue with Big Hero 6, then back to Pinocchio, then Frozen, etc.
- animal films - Dumbo, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, The Fox and the Hound, The Rescuers/Down Under, Oliver & Company, The Lion King, Dinosaur, Brother Bear, Home on the Range, Bolt (Robin Hood and Chicken Little are optional)
- 'Princess' films - Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Mulan, Enchanted, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Frozen (Brave is optional)
- 'Adventurers' films - Pinocchio, Peter Pan, The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, The Black Cauldron, Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Tarzan, The Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet, Meet the Robinsons, Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6. The best thing about this marathon following the princess one: you get to watch Aladdin twice. (I know, HoND and L&S don't really fit the theme)
- package films - in this order: Saludos Amigos/The Three Caballeros, Fantasia/Fantasia 2000, Fun and Fancy Free/The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh/Winnie the Pooh, Make Mine Music/Melody Time
- chronological order with sequels and prequels included/intertwined

I did this once:
Write all the movies down on small pieces of paper, put them in a hat, then whenever you feel like watching a Disney movie---draw one out and watch it!

Not really -- I've only just started with the last 'method'. Before that, I only did movie-specific marathons, i.e. Lilo & Stitch films, The Lion King trilogy, Toy Story trilogy, etc.

I had a system for a while - asking my boyfriend to pick a number between one and 53. Except he now knows the numbers of his favourites, so the system is busted

Awesome idea!
Except I just did it and the one I get to watch it Home on the Range. My most hate movie.

Question: Do you place the number again or take it out?

Alphabetical?
Or running times, shortest to longest, or vice versa.

Take the number out so you don't have to sit through Home on the Range again.DC Fan wrote:

If your goal is to watch them all then yes, I'd say you need to take them out or you will keep getting the same film being pulled out.
You can always leave it there and pick again if you get a film you have already watched.
I keep meaning to watch them all in Chronological order but I doubt I'll ever get round to it. There are still a few I don't think I could put myself through.
Re: Different ways to watch the movies: suggestions?
Alphabetical makes sense but sense running time doesn´t since most of them are about the same time. In fact, I think the only ones that don´t are Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi and Fantasia 2000.

Well, if I I´d take the same number like in a row or too recently I´d place the number back. Thought only if the number showed up again after a while then it make sense to watch the movie again. But thanks, I´ll do that.
...still, can´t believe the first one had to be precisely that one.

I don't really marathon, because I usually lose interest about 7-10 movies in. I mostly watch when the mood strikes. But I would do this with the Aladdin series (the only one where I didn't find one or both of the sequels unbearable--not that they're great, but you get what I mean) if Disney would just release the TV show.
Maybe print out a sheet of titles and then throw a dart or spin a top on the sheet (removing titles you watched as you go along)? Or roll dice and go with the number of the classic you get?

Listening to most often lately:
