That has to be a first for a Disney animated movie. Call me old fashion, but I hate to think that it will become the norm for films (if it hasn't already) to not even display the title at the beginning.

I already don't like the fact that films no longer have opening credits at the start. Not to mention, in Disney's case, to not start off with "Walt Disney Presents" or some variation of it to start off an animated film (which I definitely noticed for "Wreck-It Ralph" and "Frozen" as well).

"Atlantis" and "Home on the Range" also lacked the "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" title, but at least they were followed by movies who had the "Presents" logo.

Plus, the moment where Hiro loses Baymax is troubling. Hiro cries because he's losing his robot.The robot doesn't have real human feelings to have a real bond with Hero. Hiro has real human love for Baymax, but Baymax has no feelings to return his feelings with, or he only has fake synthetic robot inhuman feelings. I have to believe Hiro is only crying about losing Baymax because of his own love for Baymax and perhaps because Baymax is associated with Hiro's human, real-emotion having brother. Unless I must believe God put a human soul with human emotions in Baymax. Or rather, in his chip. Whatever.

I cried at that part, too; even though Baymax isn't a human with a soul, Hiro (and the audience) got attached to him, and I think even if Tadashi hadn't designed and programmed Baymax that Hiro would still be attached to him, but he was especially so because it was like a part of Tadashi was left behind.

And much to my surprise, it finished not behind "Interstellar", but "Dumb and Dumber To". And I thought the latter film would bomb very badly.

Yeah, I forgotten that those films did not have it either. But I would give them a pass, simply because they did have the Disney castle logo done differently, like being formed by a cattle prod.

I forget how emotional I got in that part. I was more emotional with what happened to Tadashi, but yes, I agree with what you said. Hiro's love is still human and real.

And now actually, I think Hans was a better villain. More evil, with a more complex and ambitious plan

Well I loved it! The key emotional points felt more genuine than a typical Disney film, partially because they built up over the course of the movie. It really was primarily a study of friendship, the grieving process, and letting go of the burden of seeking retribution. Combine that with a lot of laughs and a great superhero story, and you have a fantastic film!

Hmm, I don't know if I want a sequel or not. There's a lot of potential with so many great side characters, but it needs to be an emotionally vivid story like this one, not just a popcorn superhero sequel. I feel the same way about The Incredibles, but I have more faith in Brad Bird.

Since they're being compared, I liked it more than Wreck-It Ralph for what it's worth, though I do think both are great. Disney does it again!

Feast was cute. Dog owners will probably relate to it more.

This has been an interesting movie..

When Wreck it Ralph came out, all I ever wanted to do after the movie is go see it again.
When Frozen came out, I practically went to see it every weekend (thank god the manager at the theater knows me) and listened to the soundtrack for a very long time, I still find myself humming it from time to time.

But with Big Hero 6, it literally left no impression on me. I just stopped thinking about it and moved on. I should love the movie by all means, especially since I tend to appreciate the positives more in movies like this. I even don't check this thread as much as I did with the other ones.
I was just flat out disappointed by this movie. Maybe it's because it came right after Guardians of the Galaxy which I thought had the same problems.

It's probably the subject matter for you because Guardians of the Galaxy was amazing! One of the most fun action films in a long time.

I think some people might think Big Hero 6 isn't "Disney" enough, but I loved that it celebrated science and technology, things Walt himself was very passionate about. In some ways, it was actually more "Disney" than some of the princess films. I think he would have been very proud of this one (not that I care what a corpse thinks).

Wreck-It Ralph just didn't touch me emotionally like this did. All of the dramatic elements in that felt VERY forced and rushed, while Big Hero 6's were organic and believable. Wreck-It Ralph may have had more memorable visuals and fun moments though, so I loved it for that.

Big Hero 6 isn't without flaws. With such a large cast of characters, there wasn't much time for everyone to shine when Hiro and Baymax were the center of the story. GoGo especially didn't leave much of an impression.

Same here. I wouldn't even call it enjoyable as I was bored most of the time. It felt like I've seen this movie a couple of times before: The Iron Giant and How to Train Your Dragon came to my mind multiple times while I was watching BH6. The characters were the worst, cliché after cliché (stock precocious teenager, stock tough girl, stock 'girly' girl, stock stoner guy, stock OCD nerd, stock entity that has to be taught humanity and the art of social skills) and not one standout. Outside of the few touching moments (which were predictable to the max) it was a bland snooze-fest which is, IMHO, the worst crime a movie can commit.

I enjoyed Big Hero 6. It isn't surely on my Top 10 like the last couple of Disney movies, but it was still a good movie! All of the characters are very enjoyable and likable. You really do feel bad for Callahan. He's not evil, he's just a mourning father. You also feel bad for Hiro when he orders Baymax to kill him. Baymax is of course the show stealer and he is one of my Top 5 Disney sidekicks. He may be a robot, but you can feel the innocence and his actual feelings, like when he realizes he almost killed the other superhero. But, I just don't like that they killed him off at the end. No matter what the robot is, that's not the Baymax we've experienced. I also want to point out that Baymax's funny and lovable character wasn't forced like Olaf in Frozen. I thought Olaf was felt way too forced in into the Disney sidekick formula.

I also liked Tadashi. I thought he was bland, but he was still really enjoyable because you know how much he cares about his brother and how he tries to help him. I was actually very sad when he died. I like the other 5 too. Fred was my favorite.

But, I thought the beginning was too rushed. I was surprised how quickly you met the gang (like 5 minutes in). I don't like how they rush Tadashi's death. You don't really feel the grief and sadness, like Elsa and Anna in Frozen.

So, yeah a 8/10 for me. I think it'll be nominated for an Oscar, but I think HTTYD will be the winner.

It probably won't happen, but I would LOVE for this to be on Blu-Ray. They could just use the English version of the song.

Meanwhile, Big Hero 6 continues to hold strong in the box office, even with the release of The Penguins of Madagascar. So far, Dreamworks' latest film hasn't made as much of a dent as originally thought, with the Wed-Thurs estimates showing $10.3 million, while Big Hero 6 stands at $7.3 million. In fact, Big Hero 6 may even finish the Thanksgiving weekend at #3 in the box office due to a shockingly disappointing performance from Horrible Bosses 2 so far.

What a fun surprise this was, Disney is now on a roll and this was a nice tribute to Power Rangers and Japanese animation or anime in general.

Nice story, great animation and not to mention it was touching as near the end i cried as it was emotional. This is one of the best comic adaptations! this was like a mix of Brad Bird, Disney and Ghibli combined.

I finally saw the movie today and it was fine. It wasn't as refreshing/invigorating as "Wreck-it-Ralph" or as fun as "The Princess and the Frog", but it was a fine movie on it's own merits. Baymax grew eventually on me and the rest of the squad was a enjoyable gang. I liked Hiro and Tadashi's dynamic and frankly I thought their dynamic was superior to Anna and Elsa's dynamic (not that theirs were the worst, but frankly I thought their dynamic could have been better). There were definitively some nods towards "The Iron Giant" in this and the flight scene was a highlight.

It's remarkable what a human character Hiro was, that he wanted to avenge Tadashi and hated the villain for Tadashi's death. And frankly, it was unfair that the villain got his daughter back, while Hiro didn't get Tadashi back
