Oh boy. I thought making Toy Story 4 would be like making Back to the Future 4. A bad idea!
Can't believe this is happening.

Oh really? Your comment to me about "Cars 2", which you haven't replied to yet, didn't seemed particularly kind or nice, so it's somewhat hypocritical of you to call me an idiot when you're being hostile as well.Semaj wrote: Apologies don't mean anything if you're going to keep being an idiot about it.
Fine, perhaps I was a little condenscending, but I'm generally not a fighter at all and I still conveyed my opinion in a constructive way. And I wasn't an idiot towards Disney_Divinity afterwards and neither did I offend him/her or attacked him/her personally.
Re: Pixar's Toy Story 4
Your comment was not constructive in any sort of way. You threw a fanboy fit just because people don't like Cars 2 as much as you do. Your "apology" is idiotic, because you've done this crap before, and going by your defensive posting, you're probably going to keep doing this over and over, and in process, make a bigger idiot of yourself.DisneyFan09 wrote:Oh really? Re: Pixar's Toy Story 4
We can all bet for sure that Toy Story 4 will be a great movie. Pixar knows what´s at stake here.
...however, the movie can end up being better than 3 and this time I´ll always say there was no need for it.
Also, since Pixar hasn´t really let go of these characters (how many shorts have been so far?) not only it seems they´ve never left but little by little they´re (to me at least) loosing what make them special.

Re: Pixar's Toy Story 4
agreed. buzz especially has achieved god-like status to the kids of today, as important to childhood as batman and barbie. i would hate for that to swing the other way for such an iconic character. i dont really think any other recent cartoon character has made that mark to the point of crossing generations. you ask kids today who simba or aladdin are, and you might get a half hearted reply stating the movie title. buzz, youd likely get a run down of each film plus quotes.DC Fan wrote: Also, since Pixar hasn´t really let go of these characters (how many shorts have been so far?) not only it seems they´ve never left but little by little they´re (to me at least) loosing what make them special.
i was 10 when toy story came out, and thought it was the bees knees. with each movie since, obviously the technology has evolved heaps and its been incredible to watch. similar to watching the harry potter films and seeing danial etc grow up before our eyes.
just actually realised... toy story will be 20 next year! where has the time gone.

@Semaj: I don't think DisneyFan09 is idiotic/condescending, I just think he was overly defensive because it's Cars. I can understand why being a fan of something that is treated like a punching bag will make someone react that way. Even though I've seen DF09 respond about Cars before, I think he offers a lot to discussion on the forum 99% of the time.
(By the way, I wasn't offended at all, although I know the conversation's not about me, really.)

The only reason I would say that is the case is because TS has sequels which keep it from being more than just a movie from the past, which TLK and Aladdin don't have. That said, there are many kids who are/were just as passionate about Simba and Aladdin.sunhuntin wrote:i dont really think any other recent cartoon character has made that mark to the point of crossing generations. you ask kids today who simba or aladdin are, and you might get a half hearted reply stating the movie title.

Yes, my comment was constructive and I didn't offend Disney Divinity! Perhaps it was fanboy-ish comment, but I think it's deserved, since "Cars 2" is quite (unfairly) hated. Either way, you're a hypocrite for claiming me to be idiot, while you're being condenscending yourself! And yes, I've seen some replies from you. And the worst case is that you're mocking me for liking "Cars 2" and when I asked you to elaborate, you backed off completely! You hypocritical coward!
And show me some proves of where I've acted like an idiot before. Perhaps I've been hostile before, but in my defense, it was a response towards people who's offended me. I'm usually not condenscending at all.
And just so you know; These boards are for discussing Disney movies, not other users. I'm going to report your attacks immediatly

Hi Disney's Divinity. Thanks for defending for me and I'm sorry if I seemed overly defensive about "Cars 2". I know that we've had our disagreements before, but I probably shouldn't be that condescending.Disney's Divinity wrote:@Semaj: I don't think DisneyFan09 is idiotic/condescending, I just think he was overly defensive because it's Cars. Your overly-defensive posting every single time someone says they don't like Cars 2, AND when someone calls you out for it comes off as disruptive. You're forcing people to like the same stuff as you, which never works. Sticking up for your favorite movies is one thing, and being hostile about it is another.DisneyFan09 wrote:Wow, what a big jerk you are!

Re: Pixar's Toy Story 4
Concerning Toy Story 4, and the other Pixar sequels, I can't help but feel that someone among the higher-ranks at Disney are pressuring them to go thru with this. Disney nearly made an in-house studio that would've specialized in making Pixar sequels, before they bought the studio.
These may not be the direct-to-video sequels Disney resorted to, but it may all the same lead to weariness among Pixar franchises.

Re: Pixar's Toy Story 4
That's a fair and constructive argument. Why couldn't you be that in the first place?Semaj wrote: Your overly-defensive posting every single time someone says they don't like Cars 2, AND when someone calls you out for it comes off as disruptive. Fine, I'm overly-defensive when it comes to "Cars 2", but I think it's because the film has been unfairly bashed many times. While I do admit that it's not flawless, I don't think it deserves the massive hate that it got and that's why I'm defending it.
But sure, I can be less hostile about "Cars 2". I can improve myself. And I've probably been disruptive, but it's because I'm defending myself when people have actually offended me. But if you wanted me to stop, why acting so hostile and hypocritical in the first place?
Wow, constructive and polite as always. And yes, I was being sarcastic. Perhaps you should look what Sotiris said to you?Yeah, I'll be sure to take your next "apology" seriously...

Just for the record, I hardly ever talk about Cars 2 specifically. I HAVE seen it, as with every Pixar film thus far, but it ties in with my aforementioned issue with Pixar making more and more sequels.DisneyFan09 wrote:That's a fair and constructive argument. The fact is, I have faced similarly annoying responses such as yours so many times elsewhere, that I have very little patience for it anymore. I'm sure any member would appreciate being able to describe why they're not a fan of something without being ambushed by the "DON'T TALK MEAN ABOUT MY FAVORITE MOVIE" response. For me, it's annoying if I disagree, it's embarrassing if I happen to agree, and neither instance invites real discussion.

Re: Pixar's Toy Story 4
OK, that's a fair argument. I'll stop acting like a dense fanboy. However, the reason for defending "Cars 2" is because it's hated by the majority. I'm normally more defensive towards favorite films that are (unfairly) hated, the beloved films I'm less defensive about.Semaj wrote:Just for the record, I hardly ever talk about Cars 2 specifically. Re: Pixar's Toy Story 4
Pixar are clearly grabbing some easy cash with all the sequels lately. All the talk about how Pixar supposedly are the studio that are being creative and doing new stuff sounds a bit hypocritical. It seems to me that after Pixar made the ideas they had from the start into movies, they have been struggling a bit to come up with new stories. All the talk about Lasseter being the new Messiah of animation is highly overrated. And Lasseter constantly talking about how much Pixar are teaching Disney about animation and storytelling is irritating to say the least. Toy Story 4 and Cars 3 = $$$ is the new guideline at Pixar animation studios.
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful
