87% on Rotten Tomatoes with 62 reviews counted. Not bad :)

The visuals and heart of the story are getting praised the most. The 8 negative reviews mostly say it's weaker than other recent Disney films and feels forced and by the numbers. I can't wait to see it!

What an awesome movie!!! It definitely has a lot of heart. And it is really funny. I laughed a lot, I was left in amazement and suspense, and I cried.

I really want to see more of these characters, to get to know them, because I liked what was included in the film a lot.

Remember to stay until after the credits!!

Once again? Disney aren't tired of doing post-credit scenes? Haha.

Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed the movie.

I see that some reviewers are comparing this movie to "Frozen". Well, I guess it's inevitable, since "Frozen" became such an phenomenon. While some people may fear it will be the "Pocahontas"-downfall all over again, I guess "Big Hero 6" will be a more solid and less challenging film than "Pocahontas" (although I personally love the latter movie). And "Pocahontas" wasn't a flop at all, although it didn't break the records "The Lion King" had.

I see some reviewers are comparing "Frozen" to "BH6" in terms of it's quality, which is also inevitable. But I wouldn't mind if "BH6" was better than "Frozen". "Frozen" got mostly rave reviews and I thought the movie was far from Disney's finest (for reasons that I've already mentioned several times).

Yeah, Pocahontas was a huge disappointment

Just got back from seeing the movie.
I'm in the midst of writing my review, I'll share it here once I'm done.

Let's just say that I expected more and better from Disney. :(

It just jumped up to 89%, which is the same score that "Frozen" ended up with. Still, that continues the streak of 7 films in a row for Disney, to score above 80% on RT. :)

I look forward to seeing it in theaters at some point.

We all loved it. Even my 3 year old who has a VERY short attention span was riveted the entire movie. And the final scene after the credits was brilliant, imo

Saw it this evening. Totally different than any previous Disney movie. It does take a lot of tips from The Incredibles, in terms of pushing the character designs.

Speaking of which, the pre-movie controversy behind Honey Lemon turned out to be yet another false alarm, especially since the character is not even white.

91% now, which is the highest out of those 7 films :o

People are also predicting it beats Interstellar in a close race for the #1 spot at the box office...we'll see. Looks to be another hit regardless.

Sorry, but I disagree about that one. The Incredibles had quite generic character designs and none of them were expanded.

GREAT movie! Even my dad liked it. And my little brothers (under the age of 10) who are hard movie critics, loved it too. So I say well done, Disney!

And it defies being this generation's version of Pocahontas.

Playing at 3,761 theaters, Big Hero 6 opened to an estimated $56.2 million this weekend. That's up 15 percent from fellow Disney Animation movie Wreck-It Ralph, which opened to $49 million around the same time in 2012. Big Hero 6 also had the second-highest animated opening of the year ahead of How to Train Your Dragon 2 ($49.5 million).

This is undeniably a strong start for Big Hero 6: it's rare that an original animated movie opens to $50-million-plus. By promoting the unique, humorous robot Baymax, Disney managed to get huge turnout from family moviegoers (they represented 72 percent of attendance this weekend). Still, there was an assumption that Frozen's phenomenal success had elevated the Disney Animation brand to a new level, and that didn't exactly prove true this weekend.

With an "A" CinemaScore and strong reviews, Big Hero 6 should play well in the coming weeks. If it holds up like Wreck-It Ralph, it will end its run with over $215 million.

Not to go off topic but in Pocahontas' defense, I must say that it also opened at #1 to impressive numbers and was critically acclaimed upon its release (though it was often ranked lower than its four predecessors). It's only in hindsight that people "realized" they actually didn't like it at all.

And yay at BH6 opening at #1! boxofficeguru says crossing the $200M mark is definitely possible. :D
