I hope Party Central being on DMA isn't temporary. And I hope it's not exclusively there forever.

I have a question regarding the app. I installed it on my iPhone, and I saw in the updates that you can now sign in even if you're not from the United States. All was fine until a few days ago, when I tried to sign in, and it said "Oh no, you're not eligible to sign in", or something like that. Is the app US exclusive again?

Which version of the app are you using? Yes, when it first launched, the app wasn't allowing international log-in. It took a few months and a few updates until it was finally made available for signing-in from abroad.

I have the latest version (1.2.3) which was released earlier this week. I just checked it and it works fine for me, I can log-in and watch videos from outside the US.

I updated it to the latest version, and yes, it works fine. :D

It probably is temporary, and it definitely wont be exclusive forever. They'll want to make money off it wont they? Maybe it'll be on something like Toy Story that time forgot blu ray or a future pixar compilation of some sort.

DMA is now connecting to VUDU. If you connect your DMA account to vudu you can get a Wreck it Ralph for free!

http://www.vudu.com/dma

This is great news for me, I had 30 Disney movies in my iTunes account, now I have all 70 of my Disney movies in vudu!

Now I wish they would add a disc to digital program for the rest, that didn't come with digital copies.

If you check, you probably now have all 70 Disney movies in your iTunes account as well.

And I absolutely agree with you - a disc to digital program would be outstanding.

EDIT: You should have MOST of your Disney movies in your iTunes account, depending on what you have. Some Disney movies are not available through DMA (Disney Channel movies like High School Musical or Camp Rock for example). To the extent those comprise some of the 40 that were in your VUDU account, they won't port through DMA to iTunes, but the rest should.

Connected both Google Play and Vudu accounts today (in addition to the already-connected iTunes), very pleased with how it turned out. And +1 on a possible future "disc-to-digital" program, I'd be all over this!!

As a long time user of Vudu/UltraViolet I am so happy to see that Disney has come down from their "ivory" tower and let us all have our movies in the cloud we prefer.

I now have over 40 movies (all Disney) added to my account, which has over 400 titles, and am working to get all my iTunes collection ported over. I have never liked iTunes, and am glad that I won't have to deal with them anymore.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

All my Disney movies except for Sister Act I and II and Who Framed Roger Rabbit are DMA so they all should be in iTunes except for those. But I never use iTunes to watch movies, and haven't since I first joined vudu almost 3 years ago. But when DMA launched I redeemed all my iTunes codes because I knew DMA would be added to vudu one day. If they ever go full UltraViolet and do Disc to Digital I'll have about 30 more movies to add.

Merged my DMA and VUDU accounts immediately after reading the news. Pretty awesome seeing the 20 or so movies I had in my DMA locker now in my VUDU account. So glad that I can now stream all of those titles through my Sony blu-ray player now as purchasing AppleTV specifically for streaming Disney was just not in the cards.

That being said, I'm more than a little miffed to see that my digital copy of the extended cut of Bedknobs and Broomsticks has now been replaced with the shorter cut that came out on blu-ray a few months ago. Things like this are the number one reason I will never be entirely comfortable with going completely digital. I paid for the longer cut and the longer cut for Disney/Vudu to replace it without my consent feels like a total violation.

There is a Easter Sale out now. It's only good until April 13th. So don't miss out if don't already own the movies on digital copies already.

I've been really getting into Disney Movies Anywhere lately. I do wish they would give you a cheaper sale price for titles you already won on blu-ray.

What is everyone's take on this? :)

I still can't seem to figure out whether this is available outside the USA. I've searched "Disney Movies Anywhere" on my country's App Store numerous times and it never comes up.

Jules, DMA is only available in the US, but you can still use it!! All you need to do is open a US iTunes account which is fairly easy:

1) Open iTunes on your PC/Mac
2) At the bottom of the iTunes store front, change the store from "Malta" to "US"
3) Search for the DMA app, or any app that's free on the US app store and click "Get"
4) It will then prompt you to sign-in or register for a new account, choose "Register" and fill in your details using a different email address than the one you're using on your Maltese iTunes account. When filling the address, you can fill any address you'd like (even your own Maltese one), just make sure the country is filled as US.
5) On the payment options, choose "None" (this will be available as you're getting a free app)
6) Once your account is complete you can now download the app to your iOS device(s) by simply switching between the Maltese and US iTunes accounts on your device.

Registering to the DMA is even easier, and if you already have a US "Disney Movie Rewards" account you can use that same account for DMA. Once you have both your US iTunes account and the DMA account you can now link them, as well as Vudu and Google Play, which you'll have to open accounts for the two as well.

Now, if you have any US-imported Disney DVD's and Blu-rays that include digital copies you can now redeem them using your new US accounts. They will transfer to your DMA account and carry over to all providers you've registered with.

Also, if you want to purchase any digital movie, instead of using US iTunes gift cards you can purchase movies through Vudu which actually accepts payments from international PayPal accounts and these purchases will carry over to your iTunes account and to DMA.

I know it all sounds like a big hassle, but it's actually much easier than it sounds. I've been using DMA since it launched last year without any problem.

If you need any help with the whole process just give me a shout, I'd be happy to help!!!! :)

Purchased Dumbo for $12.99, so far all the sale prices haven't been that great. A "disc-to-digital" program was rumored ever since DMA launched last year, really hope it will happen eventually. If it does happen, and the price is right (around $5) I'd be upgrading every title that didn't include a digital copy to digital.

I agree with you. Why did they stop the service for $5.99? :( lol
