Dick Van Dyke guesting on MMCH

Disney Legend Dick Van Dyke guest stars as Goofy’s pirate grandpappy, Captain Goof-Beard, in a special music-filled episode of Disney Junior’s Emmy Award-nominated animated series “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” premiering FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10 (9:00 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The episode, titled “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Pirate Adventure,” features six new original songs performed by Van Dyke’s character alongside Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto.

About his role in the episode, Van Dyke said, “Anytime it’s Disney, I always show up. This is the first time I’ve ever worked with Goofy, and I’m playing his grandfather. I’m a pirate; nobody ever knew Goofy’s grandfather was a pirate!”

In the special, Mickey and pals are enjoying a day at the beach when Peg Leg Pete delivers a note from Goofy’s long-lost Grandpappy, Captain Goof-Beard, asking for the gang’s help in ensuring that Harmony-Chord Island, the musical isle where Goof-Beard lives, doesn’t go completely out of tune and sink.

Combining the rich heritage of Disney’s beloved classic characters with state-of-the-art CG animation, “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” introduces a whole new generation of preschoolers to Mickey and his pals Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and Daisy. The series’ curriculum is designed to introduce problem-solving and early-mathematics skills in a fun way through contemporary, interactive storytelling. A global hit since its premiere in 2006, “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” is seen in over 163 countries in 33 different languages. The series is a production of Disney Television Animation.

I can't believe that MMCH hasn't ended yet! But, for the record, that was awesome that Dick Van Dyke was in it. I guess I'll check it out when it comes on.
