I kind of want to see these guys used, if we're stuck with them. We got that foreign short for Cinderella's puppy... but it would be nice to get either shorts in English for the various animals on Disney Junior, or else a little tv show akin to Pound Puppies or something. Just so they aren't just MERCH. DO something with them. (Like Minnie's little Bow-tique shorts. The characters used in that are getting popular with the new generation. Like Fifi the Dog. Saw a plushie for her on the Disney Store website last week!)

So I guess I'm the only one who remembers the original version of that clip-art.

This website shows them in hi-res when you use the zoom function but I don't know how to download them. Maybe you'll have more luck.

Does anyone know if this is supposed to be a new Palace Pet? It looks like a bedazzled version of Pocahontas' Flit.

It's from the upcoming book "Tales from the Magical Realm". Update: Her name is Shimmer but she's not a Palace Pet.

I have no idea, but it looks like it could be a new pet for Pocahontas.

But his/her name is not featured in the description of the book:
Explore the Magical Realm with Blondie, Beauty, Lily, Windflower, Seashell, and Petit. Featuring six enchanting stories, as well as a code to download an additional eBook with audio, this storybook anthology will please every Palace Pets fan.

I am just wondering why couldn't they use the Disney Princesses' canon pets in this franchise. It just seems like a wasted opportunity in favor of some bland and really unoriginal characters.

Because the original pets are all males. And they needed females, so you can put them bows and tiaras.

Hey, you can still make male characters into girl toys. I think they need to be a little bit more creative with girl toys. I mean I know anyone would like a stuff doll of Raja, Philipe, the animal characters from Snow White, Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty, Pastal the Chameleon, Maximus, Khan, Crikee, Louis the alligator, and Sven from Frozen. I mean a little creativity would help to make it less like that they are ripping of Littlest Pet Shop.

Rapunzel has a new pet deer named Gleam!

Image

A deer is an odd choice for Rapunzel. It would have been more suitable for Snow White. Rapunzel now has a record of five palace pets while Pocahontas only has one and Merida zero. I doubt Merida will ever get a pet. I think she was originally going to have one but because of the redesign controversy they decided not to include her in the Palace Pets line after all.

It appears that I am not the only one character designer on the Palace Pets.
As a freelance artist for Disney Consumer Products and Blip Toys (the company which makes the products of this license), I guess there are other artists who are in the process but Idon't have any feedbacks after each round of designs that I submit to them.
I never designed a deer for Rapunzel for example, but I did one for Snow White.
I did the Jasmine's poney aside though...
From the beginning of the license until now, I designed many pets and some seem to not be made for some unknown reason.
All I can tell is that I did several pets for EACH princess. ;)

I drew Treasure a while back.

I figured it made more sense for her to be a merkitty. :p

Great find!

Where is that from? Are those pets already available? I've been looking for Jasmine's pony for a while...

Wao. The ponies are just way too much.

Before the animals kind of resembled the princesses...But now? Not of you have mentioned have mentioned that the ponies are basically the animal versions of them!? Jasmine´s pony especially. It IS her.

That´s just creepy.
