I dont think theyll phase them out... they will make extra expensive collector's releases with all the stuff collectors love. Theyll just make us pay arm & leg for it b/c they love to screw over people that dont have children apparently...

As long as they manage to deliver actually good blu-rays, with new and interesting bonus features and great picture quality, I'll gladly take this over what we have now.

No more FUCKED* up versions of films like "The Sword in the Stone", of which the DVD looks actually better than the Blu-ray.

*hugs and kisses to dvdjunkie...

First off.... to milojthatch.... amen! I feel the same way!

What happens the day the cloud isn't working (for a day, or forever), or yr internet is down? You lose yr film collection????

And Im not sure I;ll buy Tarzan on blu ray, but man, am I thrilled they included so many bonus features!!!

Now.... had Hercules included at least a commentary track, I would be running to the store now... Sigh.

I received my copy of Ichabod/Fancy Free and I am in total shock. Not only does the picture look fantastic but the version of The Reluctant Dragon included is the feature length film instead of the short. I am very impressed.

Snow White and The Lion King Blu-ray steelbooks available now at zavvi.com (Seems The Lion King might have sold out almost instantly though, if it ain't coming up again - zavvi.com are notorious when it comes to upcoming releases, they always marks them as "Sold out" instead of "Not yet available"...)
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

The day you can only buy digital (or at least not copy it to a disc) is the day I stop buying movies. Not a fan of the digital moment at all for a number of reasons. I want to own my movies, not rent them thank you very much.

On a separate note, does anyone know what extra's are on the various international versions of Hercules on Bluray?
i have the UK Hercules and it's no better than the US version, but there's no Zero To Hero sing along on it.
Disney is awesome, and was the biggest part of my childhood.

Though it is a good question, my answer is no. I enjoy streaming, but I love owning a show or movie on a physical media so I can enjoy it and comfort me forever.

That's so sad. Ok, what I really want to know is, are there any versions that include the Michael Bolton music video? It just seems so odd to not have that on there at all!

As for the digital thing, on top of the usual issues people may think of for why just digital sucks, go watch the documentary "Terms and Conditions May Apply" for some slightly more sinister reasons why I'm not a digital fan. I'm not against all forms of digital. In fact I have a NetFlix steaming account (which is how I saw the documentary), it's just the idea of "owning" a film or show digitally I'm against. I feel that like NetFlix, digital is the answer to cable TV, not one's home entertainment collection. It's a great way to watch things you may not watch otherwise to find out if you want to DVD/Blu-ray.

I preordered Tarzan, Hercules, Bedknobs, & Ichabod/Fun at the same time and I've already received all of them except Ichabod/Fun...it still says "not yet shipped". Anyone else having this same problem with amazon?

Finally! It's about time! Let's hope they'll cook up some new and exciting bonus features.

My ultimate wish is to have Aladdin in 3D Blu-ray! Probably won't happen but I want it sooo bad!

I wonder if they'll include a bonus segment or tribute feature to Robin Williams on the upcoming Diamond Edition of Aladdin.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did. Either way, it would be a suitable and nice idea.

Well.... if they release Aladdin in October, there could be a tribute to Williams. If its coming out in March, then I am sure the discs are already being pressed.
Now, Im usually the guy who is always asking for bonus features. But I gotta say, the Platinum dvd left virtually no room for improvement. Don't know what else they could add.... maybe something about Aladdin in the parks?

But as long as they port over the features from the dvd to the blu ray... we should all be VERY happy.

I wonder if they could justify doing a theatrical release of one. I cant remember, was a 3D Aladdin ever rumored to be in the works? They could have one in the can already for all I know. But I know if there was one more 3D conversion they do, I'd want it to be Aladdin. I didn't think it could be possible before but with the loss of Robin people would really make this worth while for Disney I'd imagine. People would be seeing this movie in droves.
