For me I'll be seeing Guardians Of The Galaxy & Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Gods.
Disney is awesome, and was the biggest part of my childhood.

July was really the most cramped of the summer months this time around, slightly more so than last year. Glad to know that August will be a bit lighter in that respect. To save time, I'll run down my prospects for the full month here and do both polls on their respective threads.

Guardians of the Galaxy - The next step in Marvel's growing universe. All-star cast, A+ director, and valuable source material should make for something spectacular. Opening weekend, in IMAX 3D.

Get On Up - 42's Chadwick Boseman assumes the position of one of music's greatest legends. Don't overlook the facts that Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) portrays his steadfast manager, Mick Jagger is co-producing, and the three best elements from The Help are reuniting. Seeing it this coming Tuesday, with an early sneak crowd.

The Hundred-Foot Journey - Disney's latest Touchstone/Dreamworks release. Lasse Hallstrom directs this adaptation of Richard Morais' foodie tale, pitting an esteemed French chef (Helen Mirren) with an Indian restauranteur and his family who move into the neighborhood following a serious disaster back home. I'd guess it's worth seeing if you read the book, liked Million Dollar Arm, or just need a break from sci-fi and tentpole entries. Since it's being released through the Mouse here in the states, I'd be seeing it regardless, hopefully with an early sneak crowd as well. Still waiting to hear if my name was drawn. Otherwise I'll pay to check it out opening weekend. Pray this'll be the next The Help. Both Disney and Dreamworks will need it if they're to renew their contract.

Into the Storm - An extremely generic natural disaster story, destined to be this generation's Twister. I'm sure I'll give it a shot, in some capacity. If not with a preview crowd, this one might be just a rental.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - I'm more intrigued than I should be with this one. Waiting on a source for screening passes on this one, otherwise I'll pay for the 3D.

Let's Be Cops - I know I'm cheating here, but this really is the only mainstream entity opening in the later half of August. It's almost basically New Girl's Nick and Coach (Jake Johnson, Damon Wayans Jr.) in an alternate universe where the show's set around just the two of them, living as friends in Los Angeles (or Atlanta disguised as LA) and who dress up as police officers for a costume ball, and who are ultimately mistaken for the real thing. Already got passes locked up for this one, rather excited.

One Chance - It's doubtful this won't have a wide enough reach until late September, but I'll include it here anyway. David Frankel helms this true-life account of 2007 Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts (James Corden), and his struggles to fame. Rental, at least.

Holdovers from previous weeks: X-Men: DOFP, Chef, Begin Again, Boyhood, Life Itself (Roger Ebert doc)
One-Off Events: Stop Making Sense (classic Talking Heads concert film), Rifftrax Live: Godzilla (The 90s "epic")

Ninja Turtles, I've been looking forward to this one for a very long time. I love the Turtles, I love April and I've like all the trailers thus far and there is a small bit of nostalgia connected to this franchise for me as the original film was the very first movie, my parents took me to. And honestly, this movie looks really fun.
