Festival of Fantasy Parade
So, has anyone seen this new parade in the Magic Kingdom at WDW? I have only seen it on YouTube, and have to say, I want to go back so badly to see it in person. It seems like Disney really outdid themselves this time, as I liked it more than the previous one.
Here is the parade on YouTube...

Re: Festival of Fantasy Parade
Saw it on Monday, will see it again tomorrow. Watched it from Frontierland, then hoofed it over to Main Street to watch it again. It's easily become one of my favorite (if not, the favorite) daytime parade I've experienced.
The Dopey-and-Sneezy characters is probably my favorite rendition of the dwarfs.
And I absolutely love the Tangled float. It's like watching the scene come to life.
But, my goodness, the Philip & Dragon battle is magnificent. It's amazing to see. Almost makes up for the lack of any Aurora at all in the parade, as her spot in the Princess float was taken over by Anna and Elsa.

Re: Festival of Fantasy Parade
Loved it and can't wait to see it in June. Glad to see Prince Phillip gettin' some love but I do miss Aurora.
I can only nitpick 2 things: As a purist I don't like the Lost Boys dressed like "Newsies". And although I loved Snow White dancing with the dwarfs a la A Silly Song, there was something strange about her shoes. I think they're brown/tan in the film not white. They reminded me of a nurse's shoes.
Otherwise this is a magnificent and magical parade!

Yeah, I thought the "Tangled" float was the most impressive of all.Escapay wrote: And I absolutely love the Tangled float. It's like watching the scene come to life.
And this has to be the first time I've seen Daisy in a parade, as I don't remember ever seeing her ever in any previous parade or show at Disney World.
Re: Festival of Fantasy Parade
The Tangled scene was AMAZING !!!
I would never ever have thought they would focus on that scene in particular but it was just wonderful, and I'm so glad they did. Shows that the typical Princess float doesn't have to be 'mushy' like they usually are and full of romance constantly, they can show other facets of the film!

It'll be a while before I go again but I've seen images of this parade and I'll join in on praising that Tangled float as just being breathtaking.

I loved the Merida float, but didn't like that she sang. That is very anti-Merida!

Re: Festival of Fantasy Parade
I saw it twice last week. A fabulous parade! Flora, Fauna & Merryweather on Segways was a cute touch. They really seemed to be flitting and floating like in the film. I still don't care for the "new look" of the Lost Boys. Too Disney channel/Newsies for me. Naveen, Flynn and Phillip were so cute! Maleficent was fantastic but I did miss Aurora. Anna & Elsa got a lot of cheers!

I love to sing just as much as the next person, but Merida isn't the singing type. She just isn't.disneyphilip wrote:Killjoy! I disagree!pinkrenata wrote:I loved the Merida float, but didn't like that she sang. That is very anti-Merida!

Well, she couldn't sing in the movie, but let's just say she sang Touch the Sky in her head.pinkrenata wrote:I love to sing just as much as the next person, but Merida isn't the singing type. She just isn't.disneyphilip wrote: Killjoy! I disagree!

Re: Festival of Fantasy Parade
Disneyphilip, why you get so fucking angry over a small little opinion like that? And it's true, merida is just not the singing type. Even the movie points it out.
Re: Festival of Fantasy Parade
It should maybe be noted that Merida isn't singing "Touch the Sky" during the parade. The song plays, but she isn't singing along. She does sing the main parade chorus, however ("Away we go..."). So while singing isn't really part of her character, they at least kept it "in character" in the sense that "Touch the Sky" isn't actually her singing.
