· MAYA RUDOLPH (TV’s “Saturday Night Live,” “Maya Rudolph Variety Show,” Bridesmaids”) provides the voice of AUNT CASS, who’s the overworked but always-supportive guardian of brothers Hiro and Tadashi. The owner of a popular San Fransokyo bakery and coffee shop, Aunt Cass is proud, ebullient and thinks the world of her two genius nephews. She’s always good for a laugh and ready with a hug, tirelessly there for support and a great home-cooked meal.

· Voiced by JAMES CROMWELL (“Murder in the First,” “L.A. Confidential”), PROFESSOR ROBERT CALLAGHAN heads up the robotics program at the prestigious San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and is Tadashi’s professor and mentor. When Hiro visits the university for the first time, he is star-struck by the world-renowned roboticist—while Callaghan immediately sees the potential in the 14-year-old prodigy, encouraging him to put his brain to better use.

· Pioneer entrepreneur and tech guru ALISTAIR KREI is voiced by ALAN TUDYK (“Tell,” “Welcome to Me,” “42”). San Fransokyo Institute of Technology’s most illustrious alum and owner of the biggest technology company in the world, Krei Tech, is always on the hunt for the next big thing. Krei attends the showcase at San Fransokyo Tech and is overwhelmingly impressed by Hiro’s ingenuity.

This is mostly irrelevant to anything newsworthy, but look:

Very funny trailer and the amount of detail is astounding :) I'm liking what I see, even though I'm personally more a fan of the fairytale movies then the entire contemporary style...

Thoughts on the trailer...

It's good.
I really wanted to see more of the team instead of just their faces, but i guess its ok.
Lord help me not heat Fred... It's the voice....
The villain is by far my favorite thing about this movie. Just awesome with the mask and the microbots.
I guess I have to talk about Baymax because he pretty much steals the spotlight..
He's much more interactive that i thought he would be and he is pretty fun to follow.

As for the animation. This is the standard animation that I would expect from Sony and Blue Sky. Disney is still not as good as DreamWorks, but it's ok.

It's so much better than the Frozen trailer we got.
Looking forward to this movie!

Wow it looks great! Baymax looks like he'll be a big hit (genuinely funny/not annoying).

LOVED IT! I absolutely love all of the characters, especially Baymax! The voice casting is so perfect and really fitting. I wish we heard Wasabi and Honey. :/

EDIT: Ugh, people are whining about the races on Tumblr. :| But, I do agree. It's so weird we finally get an Asian person...only for him to be half-white.

Having a mixed race character is actually more interesting and relevant to today's society in my opinion. I'd find it more odd if Disney NEVER had Asian characters before but they have.

You can tell the animators had a lot of fun with Baymax.

And I think we'll definitely get a third, more plot and character heavy trailer in September. But this is a great appetizer.

Finally get an asian person?! Did Mulan not happen or something?!? People need to get the hell off their politcally correct high horses, it's a damn movie, an animated one, I'm getting sick and tired of all this political correctness which is growing by the day! Next thing you know we'll be getting protests because Disney has yet to include a causasian/african american mixed gay male character with brown hair, green eyes and a freckle of their left cheek and glasses! Just get the hell over it already!!!

Calm down  I meant after Mulan. I thought people would thought I meant after Mulan, we get Asian people. And I don't care he's mixed. My cousin's kids are mixed (She's white, her husband is black), so it's great for them to get represented

I really don't get that "represented" feeling (maybe I have it "easy" because I'm caucasian and there are loads of hero's and examples in today's culture), why would I as a white european guy ot be able to identify with the struggles of characters of a different race, religion or sexuality? People sometimes have to big of a hang up on race in my opinion and it's getting worse over the past couple of years. Of course it's great that there is diversity in movies and casting, but it shouldn't be the main focus while making a movie. You make a movie because you want to tell a story, not because you want to validate a certain race, religious group or whatever.

Well as we learnt from Frozen, the rest of the world cares very little for what tumblr haters have to say, and neither should we :)

That was a fun trailer. Isn't nice to live in a world where you can genuinely look forward to animated Disney movies again?

Ya know knowing the haters I would think their concerns would be with "ugh why they gave Fred the white guy the only lines to speak while Wasabi doesn't!" "ugh why is the policeman white!"

And yet, that trailer looks promising. Dunno what is taei talking about so much.

This is baffling.

I think Sony and Blue Sky are at the top of the heap in terms of quality of animation. It's a little difficult to compare them to WDAS because their films (Ice Age, Hotel Transylvania, etc.) tend to be cartoony, with loose, spirited animation making use of distortions and exaggerated squash and stretch. WDAS' last really cartoony CG attempts were Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons, which were pretty good. Their most recent films have, however, been grounded in more realism, and this seems to be the chosen approach for Big Hero 6, too. A logical decision, I suppose, considering the semi-realistic visuals of the original comic books.
