Live from a hospital room, it's Mushu2083!

Post by Mushu2083 »

Hey guys. I'm in the hospital right now. I had my appendix taken out a few days ago. Now I have this stupid scar on my right side. I'm just glad that my mom was home and able to take me to the emergency room. The doctors said that if I arrived about five minutes later than I did, my appendix would have burst. At least we don't really NEED our appendix. Right now I'm on painkillers so I'll feel a wee bit loopy. So if I start making off the wall comments, I appologize, it's the painkillers talking. The doctor is letting me take my appendix home in a jar (yeah right, like I'd actually WANT to keep that thing!) Good thing is that I'll be able to go home on Monday in time to go see Princess Diaries 2 in theaters.

Wow, glad that you're doing okay! Anytime I'm sick or hurting, and then recover, I tend to feel way better than normal, as if I really appreciate being healthy and well. Hopefully you're feeling that way too, at least after those painkillers wear off.

Have a nice weekend of relaxing at the hospital, and Monday will soon be here!

You should have seen me when I was coming off the "sleepy time gas". I thought my mom was Krusty the Klown from the Simpsons. I'm feeling ok now though. I'm now able to ween myself off the painkillers. The good thing is that I can get whatever the heck I want right now (as long as it's within reason and it's legal). My mom's friends have dropped off candy and DVDs and some other cool stuff that I can't get on a regular basis. I'm taking it easy on the candy though. That chocolate be callin' me though.

No it doesn't sound evil. My mom found it quite funny too. She knew I was coming off the anesthesia at the time.

Hospital

Post by Disney Guru »

In 2002 I disconnected my left leg, from my hip. I was in the hospital for 3 days because I got sick of it and begged to go home. When I first came out of the operation, My mom and 2 of my sisters and one of my brothers were there. And I didn't recognize any of them. And I didn't even remember my name for about 2 days. I didn't know anybody. But my mom understood. That was like so embarassing. And the dumb nurse, got me mixed up with the patient next door who had a Stoumach Operation. So I had to eat Chicken Noodle Soup 3 times a day. But I got a lot of cool, gifts when I was in the hospital so that was neat.

mushu - we are all going to miss your appendix and the valuable contributions it made to the forum. Here is hoping it has gone to a better place :)

On a more serious note, hope you make a swift recovery and are able to continue your own regular posting on the forum.

Wow, if your appendix had burst there would be a good chance you wouldn't be here today. :(

I had mine taken out when I was 10, it was the worst feeling I've ever had. It's like a stomach ache to the 50th power. What was cool though, was that it only took 2 days for me to recover after the operation and I only missed one day of school....Valentine's Day I believe. So you have an all liquid diet now I presume? That's what I had.

And also here is a piece of advice. After you get home, try not to laugh too hard (or at all). It really hurts, and my friends had some fun with it once. :P It'll wear off though.

Wow, you got to keep your appendix? I didn't get mine back. And the scar went away a few years ago. :(

Yes I am enjoying all the pampering and gifts I'm getting right now. But I REALLY want to go home. I want my own bed and my own clothes. I can do my regular posting on the forums because I have a wireless internet connection on my laptop. My mom brought over my computer so I wouldn't drive myself crazy while in the hospital. She wanted me to have something to do OTHER than watch television. I gave some of my candy to the nurses and my doctor. I also gave some to my friends that came to visit me in the hospital.

Well the hospital still has to have wireless internet in order for him to use the internet there. Just because he has wireless internet on his computer doesn't mean he can use it wherever he wants.

I do agree that that's really nice that you have internet access there, Mushu.
