I love how watching a Disney movie's like going back in time

Post by rexcrk »

And I'm talking in terms of previews on discs here lol. I just popped in the Cars Blu-ray (from when it first came out) and I'm seeing previews for Enchanted, WALL-E, Meet the Robinson's, etc. and it's so weird lol. It's like a complete "holy ****" moment when you realize the disc came out six and a half years ago.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Nothing does that better than the previews on VHS. It's part of the whole nostalgic value of collecting all those old Disney videos now (and just today I sent for what I think is the 1985 VHS of Pinocchio with that rare trailer for The Black Cauldron on it).

You know, it´s funny.

On VHS I loved the previews. On BD I cant´s stand them; don´t know the reason why.

Still, yesterday I bought the Frozen DVD (used) for a friend. I put it on to make sure it worked and I didn´t care about watching the previews on it.

Let me tell you, there's nothing like watching a nostalgic Disney flick drunk. A few hours ago, I watched Hercules on Netflix with a couple of new friends while drinking some canned margaritas. It was great fun! :P

For me that would be easy. It's because Disney's not as good anymore as it was back then.

I'd also say live streaming a Disney movie is hilarious. We get to make crude jokes and stupid puns. And some of the commentary is interesting too. Once we discussed how Atlantis would have been much better as an animated miniseries, particularly because the journey would have been better fleshed out.

I love the old Disney Home Entertainment logo, with the words shooting out of Sorcerer Mickey's hand, and the 80's early 90's synths …. the memories !

Ah yes, the old VHS of the 90s were the best. With the Mickey logo and that upbeat theme tune, and the narrator's voice "And now our feature presentation!", and all those promos of the next film to come out on theatres or on video, even behind the scenes stuff!...

...It's good it's all on youtube to find. :P

And though a "bit" recent, I liked the Aladdin (2004) promos of its time. It was funny how that DVD came with its own AD of the movie/trilogy set.
