Lol, well, that is indeed a thing to worry about. If you mean that it's either have the better cover and no new bonus features or get the US Diamond with new bonus features...I would go for the Diamond.

The US package is definitely a better deal. You can always get a high quality print out of the European Cover.Disney Duster wrote:Lol, well, that is indeed a thing to worry about. I can't see why a photo reproduction place couldn't do it if you get a good scan of it. I think that's what I plan to do anyway. My college has a graphics department and I wonder if they would be so kind or even get my boyfriend to print it at his university. I just wonder if a nationwide store would worry about copyright whereas an independent one probably won't as long as you aren't selling it.Atlantica wrote:Ooooo can I ?? But if you have a good printer then it should look pretty good. I want to eventually make my own slipcovers as I'm not chasing them down.
Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
Hmm I think I may look into that then; seems like a very good idea.
Thank you for the tips / advice, much appreciated.
I wonder if Disney Store UK are releasing any Sleeping Beauty stuff to coincide with release ? Or more likely, they won't bother as its all Maleficent stuff ...

Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
Decided to peruse the Disney Store UK website and the newest Sleeping Beauty Stuff is all Maleficent merch.
As Sleeping Beauty is a standard release over here, I doubt very much we will get anything new for the animated film itself.
I also thought Snow White would be up for pre-order by now as it was supposed to be making a reappearance on blu in June. Unless SW is now the end of June and SB is the beginning.

In Germany it's a Diamond Edition, but we won't get anything new either. We will receive a repackage of the Platinum Edition with both discs and all old bonus features. I imagine it will be the same for the rest of Europe. For everyone who doesn't own the Platinum Edition this is great news, since most of the old stuff is absent from the US Diamond Edition and the new features don't sound that promising imho (with the exception of "Art of Evil").MeerkatKombat wrote: As Sleeping Beauty is a standard release over here, I doubt very much we will get anything new for the animated film itself.
EDIT: We'll also get a Digibook release (+ digibook re-releases of Cinderella and Lady and the tramp [both with their respective sequels]), though there are no pictures available at the moment.

Awesome! The digibooks sound amazing, so I'm surely going to get both Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella.Scamander wrote:In Germany it's a Diamond Edition, but we won't get anything new either. Are you sure it's with 2 discs??? That seems very out of touch with Disney and their plans to charge extortionate money for as basic a product as they can get away with.Scamander wrote:In Germany it's a Diamond Edition, but we won't get anything new either. I'd believe that the days of 2 disc editions are gone. I could see them deciding to release the first disc of the platinum. I hope I'm wrong.
Why is the UK getting the short straw here? Gah.

I didn't mange to take a pic, but there was a bus stop poster for Beauty on Blu, and randomly, it shows the blu cover having Aurora in her peasant dress on the cover, but the larger image behind the cover shows the US release image of her in the pink dress!
Tagline is 'A princess, a prince, a wicked fairy and the most infamous curse...awaken the Sleeping Beauty on bluray and DVD Monday'

A friend of mine posted on his Facebook page a photo of the UK version of the Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray. Fortunately, Aurora is featured in her peasant outfit, and the artwork looks beautiful.

Sleeping Beauty that has grown on me; the same way as Snow White. So I´m glad people "discover it".
Snow White I really disliked and after repeated viewings started really having fun with it.
Sleeping Beauty I just found SO boring. Always had to think twice whenever I was going to watch it. Now I like it a lot.
...Atlantis too I´m starting to enjoy more.

Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
I picked it up in Sainsbury's yesterday, but after reading discussions on blu-ray.com, it is just a repressed copy of the first disc of the platinum down to trailers and menu. The cover art is so nice though so hopefully, maybe, it will eventually be a reward on DMR (not that they have added anything substantial since God knows when).
I am pretty pleased I talked my bf into getting me the last BD release than waiting for this one.

Wait, even the trailers are the same?? Really ?
Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
It really is. They have it the right way in the promotional materials, which is strange:Atlantica wrote:So nice having the title the right way round !
