Some interesting information on the older version of Frozen:

A version of The Snow Queen had been trapped in development hell for decades. As far back as the 1940s, Disney had tried and failed to update Hans Christian Andersen's dark fable. In the late 90s, off the back of the so-called Disney Renaissance (the creative rebirth running from The Little Mermaid to Tarzan), the company attempted it again and shelved it again. In 2008, Chris Buck, a veteran animator and director of Tarzan, pitched it to John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Disney Animation, as a traditional hand-drawn animation called "Anna and the Snow Queen", with Elsa as a villain trying to thwart Anna's love for Prince Hans. That stalled, too, but bounced back as Frozen with Jennifer Lee (who wrote Wreck-It Ralph) as screenwriter and co-director, and some crucial twists

Disney On Ice just revealed on their Facebook page that their next show is Frozen. And they are doing a special, where when they receive 5,000 likes of Facebook, 250 likes on Instagram, and 250 retweets on Twitter, they'll reveal a special presale code.

Checking their former shows, yes. They had a Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Monsters. Inc, High School Musical, Toy Story 3, Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast, and Snow White ice shows but all of these have been retired in favor of the concept of ice shows that have a running theme, where they can connect movies together such as last Christmas, I saw Rockin' Ever After. Which was all about the princesses and featured, The Little Mermaid, Tangled (Yay!), Brave and Beauty and The Beast. Frozen is the first film in a long time to get it's own standalone ice show. Makes sense considering how popular, it is. Also, first look at Disney On Ice's Elsa and Anna.

Finally saw the film last week, and let me just say: IT'S... not my personal favorite Disney film. ... But it's still excellent! A bit better than Tangled, but not as glorious as the films that I grew up with. ... wait, it was based upon a Hans Christian Andersen work? No wonder I liked this as much as the Little Mermaid! (Damn it, "Let It Go", get out of my head!)

You can complain about CGI all you want, but nothing will change. Frozen, which is the 5th highest grossest movie ever because of the beautiful message of being yourself and conquer your fears (ok, that part was completely undeveloped) and the rare focus of the sister relationship, is CGI. End of discussion. Saying that Frozen doesn't deserve any of its fame, glory, and accomplishments (which WDAS finally has since TLK) only because it's CGI is very ignorant, close-minded, and ridiculous.
