yeah, my bad. the fact that the fairies fly in the original film confuse me about their size, but I see they were human sized in the 59 film.

That was really cute, good job Hub Network!
BTW: I think that the "Battlefield" scene is going to be one of the many highlights of this movie, Maleficent is fierce and ready to kill, not to mention that her wings is really good CG.

It's ok bradk.
Wait, Disney said their live-action "Cinderella" would be "inspired" by the classic fairy tale, but it's going to be an adaptation and really faithful, so I can still think "Frozen" is an adaptation of "The Snow Queen".

Soundtrack samples have arrived and I love it!

And for those who have Itunes, there is some extended versions of the sample tracks, my favorite one so far is "Maleficent is Captured". James Newton Howard, you might've composed the best score you have ever done since King Kong.

It's very 90's. It almost reminds me of something you'd heard in a Bluth film. I love that and think the playfulness really could work well for this. I've always had a fondness for Newton Howard, and anything 90's takes me back to my childhood instantly, so this is very welcome. Very pleasantly surprised.Musical Master wrote:Soundtrack samples have arrived and I love it!![]()

David Newman's score to Anastasia is really underrated.nomad2010 wrote:It's very 90's. It almost reminds me of something you'd heard in a Bluth film. Sorry, but I'm a bit disappointed about the score; seems kind of the usual fantasy film soundtrack, with not a lot setting it apart from anything else.
Wanted to have a really amazing theme running through the score (for instance Once Upon a Dream) but that appears to be lacking. For me anyway, obviously.

Spoilers coming from an interview by Angelina Jolie:
On whether she'd return to playing the character:
Nobody's asked me that. [Laughs.] Um, I don't know. I can't imagine. I'm not dead at the end of [the movie], so she's still there. I don't know. I don't know. I loved playing her.

The more commercials I see of this, the more excited I get to finally see it. I like the twisted version of "Once Upon a Dream" they play throughout.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"
Re: Maleficent (2014): Official Discussion
Disney provided me with a copy of the score. I've only listened to a few tracks so far to be honest, but I do rather like what I've heard. I half-jokingly noted that it's an amazing score if you listen to the just last 90 seconds of each track.

How interesting. I'm going to be attending the world premiere myself as part of a grand prize that I won in the 'Embrace Your Inner Evil' sweepstakes.

Have an amazing time !
I've booked my tickets for Wednesday - so excited ! Haven't been this excited to see a movie in a long while.
The TV spots are now airing in the UK, and there is a little scene …
…when Maleficent looks in the window at baby Aurora, she growls at her, then Aurora smiles. Maleficent then says "I hate you". I don't know why, just makes me laugh every time I see it!
