A bunch of really good things got cut out of Frozen's book and this looks like it'll heavily focus on Aurora..

It's focus is still on Maleficent and judging from the trailers it looks like they both could have equal time together but Maleficent will take the majority of it as was Woolverton's leaked script. Another thing that we have almost forgot about is that James Newton Howard (an underrated composer in my opinion) is composing for this movie and if the climax sounds anything like the 2005 King Kong soundtrack: "Beauty Killed the Beast", then I will scream for joy.taei wrote:Hm... More stuff from Tumblr... Apparently they've had a meet'n'greet at Disneyland.
Of Angelina Jolie's version.

It's probably for promotional reasons, and it won't last forever if you're worried about it.Kraken Guard wrote:

Yeah, he's a very good composer! He also did Atlantis!Musical Master wrote:It's focus is still on Maleficent and judging from the trailers it looks like they both could have equal time together but Maleficent will take the majority of it as was Woolverton's leaked script. At least they don't look like generic CGI.
The first still looks like concept art. It's gorgeous!

I'm still agitated that we're most likely not going to get the Philiip vs. Maleficent battle we were promised. (Does "the dragon fight it still there, but you'll find yourself rooting for the other side" ring a bell?!

Well, Maleficent didn't NEED wings to get anywhere in the animated movie! She could just teleport by means of flames or something!

When Elle Fanning visted Disneyland for her birthday a special show was put up to be "interrupted" by Maleficent (played by a character actress), she speaks the dialouge from the movie and the score for the scene is heard. Here's the video.

Can I just say how awesome the score is!

Well we know there is a a dragon and there is a fight with it. Sounds like it fits what they said.DisneyJedi wrote:I'm still agitated that we're most likely not going to get the Philiip vs. Maleficent battle we were promised. OK I will admit that was kind of cool... Re: Maleficent (2014): Official Discussion
So I have not yet seen the film, but Disney was kind enough to supply me with both novelizations for review/promotion and I also did read the leaked script long ago, so I can address a couple of things mentioned recently, in both spoiler and super spoiler formats. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I don't come here religiously to be honest, but when someone links to my site from here, I do read the threads a bit.
My spoilers below should just give a bit of insight into the recent questions. The super spoilers will give away plot points.
ON AURORA'S LIKING LIVING WITH HER 'BUMBLING YET WELL-MEANING' AUNTS (Spoiler)
They're the only family she knows since they literally raised her from being an infant and they don't mistreat her, so of course she respects them. Plus she enjoys growing up surrounded by nature.
ON AURORA'S LIKING LIVING WITH HER 'BUMBLING YET WELL-MEANING' AUNTS (Super Spoiler)
The three fairies roles have been somewhat reduced in the novelizations. The comic-relief three stooges element is barely there, but they are still self-absorbed and bicker a lot and clearly have no knowledge of raising a child and are often neglectful and even spiteful (as in being upset when baby Aurora cries and giving her whole fruit to eat and a glass of water and being angered when Aurora does not eat or drink). Aurora does get the impression that they feel she is a burden and an obligation to them at times, but still she is still alive and healthy, although she's also aware of an intangible presence of someone else looking after her.
ON PHILIP AND THE DRAGON (Spoiler)
There is no battle between Philip and the Dragon. The ending is _completely_ different than the animated film. The Dragon does have an extensive scene though.
ON PHILIP AND THE DRAGON (Super Spoiler)
The battle is mostly between the Dragon and Stefan and his men. Philip's role is still ultimately Aurora's romantic interest, but his role in the film is fairly rudimentary for moving the story along.
ON PHILIP AND THE DRAGON (Super, SUPER Spoiler)
In the event you did not read the original script, the Dragon is not Maleficent. The Dragon and Maleficent fight side-by-side against Stefan and his men.
