Nah, the Disney fandom who are obsessed with these theories normally don't care about Mickey and the Gang, so they'll just say "whatever" at that Mermaid cameo.

I find it hilarious that people are saying "THE YEARS DON'T MATCH UP" and when asked about -where- this is confirmed, people are pointing to Disney Wikia, which is all FAN based and (after a quick look at the page) is more in-depth and anal about explaining things than the majority of the fan theories. XD "YOUR FAN THEORY IS WRONG ACCORDING TO A FAN-WRITTEN SITE"

I'd much prefer having Word of God state the years, compared to guess-work.
