His voice was at the disney parks and on every disney trailer. Is it me or without him does it seem lacking a bit of disney magic? I just recently went to Disney world his voice use to be on the buses and theme parks ...nope nor is on trsielrs anymore

The actor in question, Mark Elliot, has retired recently and no one has found a good replacement.

I still miss the classic "In a world..." movie trailer guy (sadly deceased).

Yep that's the "Disney voice" that the OP mentioned, the talented Mark Elliot.

I love his voice. I agree the Disney trailers lack magic without him. They don't hold nearly the same appeal.
I wish him a very happy retirement. Myself and many Disney fans will miss you.

I used to love watching the various promos, previews and trailers on my VHS copies of Disney films, and now, seeing them on YouTube, it brings back so many great memories. Now, I noticed that Disney does trailers without narration, only with music and the big words on the screen. They're great in their own way, but you really can't beat the '90s trailers.

Yeah, Don Lafontaine was my favorite hands down.Disneyphile wrote:I still miss the classic "In a world..." movie trailer guy (sadly deceased).
I just found out we lost another great trailer voice last week, Hal Douglas.

I thought the way this guy said "Rated G", made it sound kind of cool. And enough to want to go see the movie in theaters.

So this guy is gone too? No wonder I don't enjoy Disney anymore.

From the looks of it he also did other movie trailers beside Disney one of them being the Swan Princess.

It's so funny, I was going to ask this same question a couple of years back! He hasn't voiced a promo for a up coming Blu-ray or DVD for a while now. He even made the sequels worth watching and magical lol. The new guy doesn't have much as appeal as Mark.

Only a couple of Disney movies didn't use his voice like say Black cauldron trailer in 1985.
