What did John Travolta call Idina?

Yeah I hate how everyone keeps cutting Let It Go. It's not a terribly long song, and each portion of the song is part of the journey, to cut that verse really hurts the storytelling.

Very nice to see Frozen justly rewarded! :pink:

I agree Idina Menzel gave a fairly bad performance, but everybody has an off day and it definitely doesn't knock the performance she gave for the film. I'm sure years of performing can take its toll--see Mariah Carey.

Very, very happy about the success Frozen has seen; it deserves all of it. I am, however, unhappy about the butchering of Idina Menzel's name! She's a legend in the theater world and deserves to have at least her name pronounced correctly! I get it was a mistake, but someone should have prepped him or used someone that can pronounce it correctly!

Anyone else feel like the orchestra was rushing the hell out of Idina?

Just rewatched it. I think it was the other way around. Just seems like she was nervous and not at all comfortable.

Remember that "Let It Go" is not an easy song to belt, especially give the vocal leaps within the song. Idina mentioned that she works very hard on the song with her teacher before each live performance of it. When she recorded it in the studio for the movie, she had the luxury of recording it in smaller segments.

I found nothing wrong with Idina's preformance, but some are saying this was better?

Live broadcasts are notorious for sounding OFF to the audiences watching at home. How many times have we scratched our heads over people who sound brilliant live and on recordings, but then they appear on a talk show or award show and the mix almost makes them sound flat and what not? Yes, she had a few vocal issues, but it was still better than what I sound like singing Let it Go, so I'm certainly not going to insult her over them.

She got a standing ovation, so the people listening to it live in the theater must have liked her.

Also, THANK YOU Ellen Degeneres for saying her name correctly after the song.
