Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
It would be so cool if they did two different type of covers; one for the protagonists and one for the villain side. Now THAT would be cool.
Re: Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition Blu-ray - 2014
I would love to see a cover that uses this particular scene. My perfect Sleeping Beauty cover would feature Aurora reaching to touch the spindle with Maleficent by her side, and the classic fight with the dragon below, with the logo in between.

If they fixed Maleficent's face, I would upgrade just for the artwork alone.universALLove wrote:I saw this fan made cover on another forum and thought I'd share with you all in case you haven't seen it...
I really like the composition of the cover, especially Maleficent's cloak being part of the staircase, leading Aurora to her fate; it's a neat idea and I think it's a lot more interesting than having Aurora and Maleficent back to back like the official artwork. This one feels more fitting of the film too with the colours but it's probably too dark and sinister and not colourful or kiddy enough for Disney to actually have a cover like this though

Am I the only one who thinks her face looks fine?
By the way, where did you find this cover?

I agree very cool! but her face looks like she's been inhaling her green magic fumes a bit too much, lol.

her face is off but if Disney ever put out this cover I wouldn't mind overlooking the error lolteej wrote:If they fixed Maleficent's face, I would upgrade just for the artwork alone.universALLove wrote:I saw this fan made cover on another forum and thought I'd share with you all in case you haven't seen it...

Love the cover, but it'd be an alternative if anything. Disney never puts out a predominantly sinister cover like that.

I dunno. That 1995 rerelease poster with Maleficent's face staring down at Philip kissing Aurora creeped me out when I was younger.ajmrowland wrote:Love the cover, but it'd be an alternative if anything. Disney never puts out a predominantly sinister cover like that.

I saw Sleeping Beauty in the cinemas last week. Was wonderful. Noticed that the scene when Merriweather is about to give her gift to Aurora (which Marky complains about jagged painting lines) didn't seem so bad.
I also saw Beauty and the Beast and everything was completely original. Not even the incorrect mirror reflection when Belle comes down the stairs. Was awesome.

Goodness, that's wonderful! Where did you get to do that?!Victurtle wrote:I saw Sleeping Beauty in the cinemas last week. Was wonderful. Noticed that the scene when Merriweather is about to give her gift to Aurora (which Marky complains about jagged painting lines) didn't seem so bad.

It's pretty awesome! Event cinemas in Australia do Disney film festivals every year. This year it's BatB, SB, BRAVE, TLM and Snow White.

WOW ! Now that is seriously cool, to do a festival every year; wish the UK would have something like that.
We had a huge celebration for when Tangled was released; BFI Cinema in London showed one Disney film a week, for 49 weeks, until they got to the 50th, the release day of Tangled. Other than that, don't really have anything cool celebrating Disney like this. You are very lucky

Will this new edition be a new restoration that corrects somemistakes like this?

^take your mouse off the picture to show a comparison to the blu-ray.
I am hopeful that error will be fixed. As I posted above, it was absent from the theatrical print I saw last week. However with BatB, we saw that sometimes Disney just reprints old masters despite having an more recent one available.

OK I can see why that would be a mistake. Otherwise, the transfer is wonderful.
