The Satellites are tonight and Frozen is up against The Wind Rises for the award, so this is going to be a test for next week. Ordinary Love isn't running for Best Song, so we can say that Let It Go is a shoo-in.

To be honest, the nominations this year have been a disappointment.

I thought these were the songs that would be nominated:

Let it go
Young and Beautiful
I see fire
Atlas
The Moon Song
"In every age, Family is king,
and the bravest journeys, are never taken alone."

Um.... i don't think ive ever so shocked. lol

I was looking at the past winners of the Satellite Award...

I was like: Hunchback!! Woo!!!
But then I was like:
Wait, Incredibles over Shrek 2?
Fantastic Mr. Fox over up?
And then the final blow......
Rise of the Guardians over both BRAVE and Wreck it Ralph....

Yeah.. I won't be surprised if Frozen lost to turbo.

As for the songs... So random..
I honestly can see any of the songs winning.
Who votes for these awards??!!

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE The Incredibles...

but Shrek 2 is a comedic marvel.........
And it's got one heck of a musical number.

EDIT: It's not that Shrek 2 is a better movie, it's just that I favor it over the incredibles.

I personally prefer Shrek 2 over The Incredibles too, I think that was really tight competition that year.

At least both movies won nice awards.

Meanwhile, Ratatouille kept on stealing the awards from Persepolis for whatever reason.

Edit: Wait, I forgot that Shrek 2 lost the Oscar. My bad.

Would Frozen qualify as the highest grossing film directed by a female? Or no because of the male co-director?

:o We shulda listened to taei!

 But these series of events are not shocking to me. Nor, in my opinion, are they indicative of who will win the Oscars.

Yeah, like Rise of the Guardians and Fantastic Mr. Fox won the awards, so...

BTW: Did we notice these on the USA Today website?

Keep in mind last year that the Skyfall theme lost to Suddenly from Les Miserables, so these awards aren't indicative of who will win at the Oscars.

Plus it's worth noting the Satellites don't share any members with the Academy.

As much as they seem to be considered a bit of a joke in the industry, I like that they go their own way, vote for whoever they like and don't simply try to predict the Oscars like other awards bodies tend to do (looking at you, Broadcast Film Critics Association).

Question: Does anyone the 3 panel picture from this?
I've been looking for it for quite some time.

The LEGO Movie?

Iger and Millstein can speculate and hope all they want, but the reason Disney Animation is on the rise is because Iger is deferring to Lasseter, who in turn has made the studio director/creative-centric. Could there be a sequel to Frozen? Sure. Same with Wreck-it Ralph. But it won't happen unless the content creators think they can do a sequel worthy of the original.

Also, that making-of is a giant slap in the face. I hope WDSHE is bombarded with complaint calls, demanding a special edition this fall (and hopefully they demand 3D, too).
Please voice your desire for a domestic 3D Blu-ray release of Frozen!
