I know, I was saying just Maleficent might have been in league with the devil. I actually don't think she made a deal with the devil but just chose evil magic. I don't think I believe she had wings before, now that I think about it. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother didn't have wings. And maybe her green/white/blue/purple skin was even always a part of her. That's the part I most doubt, though. I bet the evil green flame magic she sided with turned her green.
A reason I don't think Maleficent was a born demon fairy is because I don't think anyone can be born evil. In Christianity, which Sleeping Beauty does invoke, demons are in actuality fallen angels.
And I wouldn't say Ursula is necessarily a different species. I would say she is of the species merfolk, but perhaps she is of a different race. I personally wouldn't say even that, I'd say she is even the same race as a merperson, and that her tentacles and skin or more like just a difference in eye or hair color, but I understand why you or many else would consider her much more different.

Re: Does Maleficent have hair???
Well, at some point in her development she did, at least: http://i.imgur.com/Cy9aWpl.png
Also, the designer doll has hair: http://a.dilcdn.com/bl/wp-content/uploa ... ficent.jpg
Not that those dolls are exactly true to character, but I would assume conversations like this are held prior to designing the dolls and it would be strange to give her hair if she was only ever intended to have horns.

I think she was born the same as other fairies (egg / flower / etc) and she chose a different path for her life to take. Either by choice or circumstance.
That's always what I've thought about her as a character; she obviously has some sort of history / connection with the three good fairies. I've always felt that it wasn't just her name they knew and feared, but knew her as a fellow fairy.

I think it's like the case of The Evil Queen in Snow White. Her hair is pilled under that horned thingy she wears.

Well, you know...a severe case of alopecia might account for her crankiness..... ^^;

Hi Cheshire_Cat! It seems like Maleficent definitely has horns as part of her anatomy. Her headdress is more ornamental, and usually it's more of a crown. As far as her hair, I think that it's usually portrayed as being a deep black color and it's very long and straight. It's usually worn in a high ponytail or a braided updo. I hope this helps!Cheshire_Cat wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2014 6:51 pmYou think that's just a headdress she has on, or are those horns just a part of her anatomy? What do you suppose her hair looks like, if she has any?
Re: Does Maleficent have hair???
I think she does have hair, all tucked in her headdress, like the Queen in Snow White.
EDIT: I didn't notice I already said my opinion on this before. Sorry for repeating myself

Me neither. That's super creepy. I guess I can see "horns, anatomy: some people say horns are headdress, like crown. Have hair? Compute: these are hair styles that can be worn" might be all part of the many things programmed in one.
