You mean the pointless sequel that embarked upon an inferior retread of the original's story, albeit ruining Bernard and Biana's romance, replacing the genuinely likeable Penny with the bland Cody and substituting substance for style?

No, I didn't like it.

In fairness, I do like Joanna.
I did not think it was pointless. In so many ways, I think it was better than the first, including animation, music, visuals and story.

I generally don't mind them, in that I just won't watch them but their existence doesn't piss me off lol, but the only one I truly enjoy is Lion King 1 1/2. I own a few Disney sequels because of them being included with the original on Blu-ray, but Lion King 1 1/2 was the only one I actually bought willingly (and I'm so glad they eventually released it separately on Blu-ray because I didn't care for Lion King 2 and didn't want to get the trilogy set).
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I came in thinking I hated the majority of the sequels, but realized I enjoyed The Lion King II and 1 1/2, The Little Mermaid II and Ariel's Beginning, and Cinderella III. I haven't seen the Aladdin sequels since I was much younger, but I remember enjoying them at the time. The rest I pretend didn't happen.

Definitely not as good as their predecessors, but I do enjoy some of the sequels.

Aladdin and the Return of Jafar, and King of Thieves were very enjoyable.
The Lion King 2, while not as good as the original, was still pretty great, in my opinion.
And, of course, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. :P

There are some that are pretty good, some that are meh, and a lot that are ugh.

My favorites that I think are pretty good and enjoyable are

The Lion King II: Simba's Pride
The Lion King 1.5
Return of Jafar
Aladdin and The King of Thieves
Cinderella III: A Twist in Time
Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin
Beauty And The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas

The Most Horrible ones

Cinderella II: Dreams Come True - obvious
Belle's Magical World - obvious
Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 - the only redeeming factor for this is that all the original voice actors come back, but that's about where the redemption ends

The rest in my opinion weren't horrible, but not the best either.

However I will address my stance on The Little Mermaid Return to the Sea and Ariel's Beginning

I actually like TLM Return to The Sea over Ariel's Beginning because I felt Disney had their chance to have a real how Ursula tried to overthrow Triton and be a true and amazing prequel and they blew it for me anyway.

I really don't know what possessed them to get it SO wrong with Cinderella II: Dreams Come True. That was beyond dire.

I often wonder at the creative mindset behind that movie.

In Addition to Cinderella II: Dreams Come True was these

Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical World

Atlantis: Milo's Return

A few years ago on here, someone on the forums mentioned how in the script for the Atlantis TV Show, that some of the Gargoyles such as Goliath was going to be in one or two episodes of it. That would have been awesome to see in my opinion. Sadly I can't remember who it was that said it.

I don't see how a tv series of a fairytale that had a closed ending like Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast could work well.

once upon a time doesn't count.

It's funny that all of the sequels (even the rare good ones) scream: And they all lived happily ever after............Untill we need some cash. :P

Oh gosh, I'm going to be in a vast minority here but I love a lot of the sequels most of you hate. Warning for a lengthy post.

Aladdin Return of Jafar is one of my least favorites honestly, but I used to sing along with Forget About Love a lot. I highly prefer King of Thieves, but I'd just rather watch episodes of the TV show. It's been too long. Disney Junior needs to get it on their graveyard line-up.

Never liked Rescuers Down Under but Marachute is a beautiful character.

BATB The Enchanted Christmas will always remain my number 1 sequel. The soundtrack is perfect, I used to collect a lot of the merch, and it just makes me so happy when I watch it. Although Belle's Magical World has absolutely horrendous animation and coloring, I still like it, but without the new segment that got added in for the DVD in 2003 - or was it 2004? I forgot already.

Lion King II and Lion King 1/2 are really great for me. Sure, the story is really overdone for TLK 2, but I think it's one of the few I felt was most respectful to the original. And I'll watch anything with Timon and Pumbaa so TLK 1/2 is a hoot.

Return to the Sea is my 2nd favorite sequel. Another one I was obsessed with as a child and still thoroughly enjoy to this day. I'll probably end up watching it tonight in-between viewings of the Olympics preliminaries. I love Melody and the songs in it, especially Chely Wright's version of POYW. I wish Ariel and Eric actually aged however when they moved to Melody's 12th birthday.

Ariel's Beginning, however, I watched this week after my sister bought the DVD 2-pack and I really couldn't stand it. Marina was a worse villain antagonist than Morgana and Undertow and Triton bothered me so much with his lack of personality. I definitely couldn't stand how Athena looked just like Ariel when we already knew from the TV series that she got her red hair from Triton. The animation, for me, seemed worse than the colorization issues in other sequels (Aladdin sequels, BMW, and HOND 2 specifically) and ugh, I'll just watch the TV show on Disney Junior, tyvm world.

I rewatched HOND 2 last month, after years of the DVD being lost, since I'd been avoiding it when I got the BluRay combo pack and dear God I wish I had never touched it and had the movie go into my distant memories. I like Madellaine and thought she was a cute match for Quasi, but other than that, the movie was horribly colored and animated, I still don't know why Zephyr couldn't have had a darker skin tone for a biracial child, and that music was revolting. I should have said no.

Everyone's going to look at me crazy but I'll take Cinderella II any day over Cinderella III. I'd trade that Jaq story for anything else Why couldn't it have had an added sequence like BMW, it deserved one, seriously, but I find more enjoyment out of II than III. Not to mention, much better animation and colors. I am also a sucker for the wardrobe in II, I wanted all of those dresses as a little girl. With Cinderella III as I watch it now I really can't stand their need to make Cinderella a daring heroine and whatnot. It just doesn't work for me. Not to mention they animated Cinderella ALL wrong. I know she's difficult, but II was so above par with her design. The most I liked from III was more Anastasia and some darn good villains in Lady Tremaine and Lucifer. They were perf. Charming was cute in III, but eh, don't buy it very much.

Lady and the Tramp II is another favorite of mine. Whereas everyone doesn't care for Scamp or the animation, I actually quite enjoyed it. My favorite is probably Angel and Scamp's sisters. I don't think I cared much for the Scamp&Angel dinner scene duet, but the new recording of Bella Notte is wonderful.

I do hate all of the Lilo and Stitch sequels however, although I was a big fan of the show. Also hated Tarzan and Jane since I could just watch the TV show on UPN every morning.

Of all the Pooh sequels, I love Tigger Movie the most (gets me crying every time) and probably Pooh's Grand Adventure second, although it's been a long time since I've watched it.

I have a love-hate relationship with Return to Neverland. I still prefer the original over it, but I at least enjoy RTN and the Wendy-Peter-Tink reunion kills me every time. Hate that silly octopus, though.

Sequels I haven't seen that I don't ever care to: Milo's Return, Bambi II, Fox and the Hound II, Tarzan II, Brother Bear II.

Aside from Pixar sequels I think that's everything? Tangled Ever After can go and never come back if that counts as a "sequel". My sister bought a Disney book featuring wedding stories of Cinderella, Belle, Tiana, and Rapunzel last year or so and I highly prefer that over Tangled Ever After.

Oh! Right! Patch's London Adventure. I remember getting it as a birthday present but I never watched it seriously. Don't think I ever will. Give me the TV show and the Glenn Close live action films any day when it comes to 101 Dalmatians sequels.

With regards to it being a TV show (Cinderella II / Belles Magical World) I still say that I don't know how they can have got them so wrong, when if you look at their other Princess show, Ariel's Undersea Adventures, it got it so right ! They are all beloved characters, all have songs, all have journeys to go through.

Yes AUA had its faults, especially with some character animation of Ariel toward the end, but on the whole it was Oscar worthy compared to the abominations mentioned above!

I like the Aladdin sequels the best. They are the most fun and creative imo. I use to be obsessed with Return of Jafar because I love Jafar and was glad to see his more sinister side. But now I prefer King of Thieves. I just love how it feels like a series finale to the awesome TV show.

Enchanted Christmas holds a special place I'm my heart. So much nostalgia my cousins and I would watch it every Christmas season. I love the song "Stories" and I still play the soundtrack all the time over the holiday season. LK2 is ok. I mostly like it for Zira's character. I was midly obsessed with the basket case for a while. I wish they kept her deleted scenes in the film. Especially her suicide.

Cinderella 3 is ok. I liked Anastasia's arc, even as a kid I thought she was the "nicer of the sisters. And it was good to see Lady Tremaine get more action. But I think they could have done some things better? Like maybe a better climax.

LM2 was one I watched all the time as a kid but I recently rewatched it and could barley finish lol. Melody was pretty cool but it was just a complete rehash of the first movie. Morgana is pretty lame although Pat Carroll does a good job voicing her. I actually remember being so excited to get this on VHS to lol. The Mermaid prequel is.....cute but a huge letdown. They could have done so much like where was Ursula? And why did their mother die so quickly? A lot of wasted potential.

Pocahontas 2 I like some of the songs but I haven't seen it in a while. HBOND is by far the worst. What were they thinking? Just awful...

The others I either haven't seen or have just forgot about them hehe.

I find I'm kinder to the ones that are pilots or end of production films for the tv shows (like Aladdin or Lilo and Stitch). Adding Pixar to the mix, the only sequels I personally feel however are superior to the original or at least as good would be both of the Toy Story sequels, Monster's University and Rescuers Down Under. I don't feel any of the direct to video films are in that category.

Really? I thought MU was so much worse than MI. But I agree with the TS sequels and The Rescuers Down Under.

I hope Finding Dory is better than Cars 2 and MU. I'm not a Nemo fan, but I did like the Dory character so I hope the film is good.

I remember being so excited for TLM2 when I was a child. Those previews had me drooling, actually. :o Morgana was definitely no Ursula, but her final scene with the ice castle is still pretty awesome to me (minus the Melody confrontation where she gets her tentacle stabbed like a moron... ). Morgana and Melody seem to have more of a direct connection than Ariel and Ursula because they are both pale imitations of their sister and mother, respectively. I find Melody being tricked by Morgana actually more believable than Ariel being tricked by Ursula, but that might just be because Morgana is so ditzy that it would be hard for Melody to see her as threatening (plus she puts on the innocent-grandma-who-couldn't-hurt-a-fly act for Melody). I did find some of those scenes of Morgana as a complete f-up at being a witch kind of funny.

I don't bother with the sequels anymore. I just see them as a waste of time.

I only watched the sequels when I was a kid, and a lot of times it was because I was just trying to hurry up and find a video to rent from Blockbuster before my dad ran out of patience.

I remember liking the Aladdin sequels and Return to the Sea as a kid. The others that I watched were forgettable.

Wanted to rescue this post because I decided to watch all the sequels and decide how bad they all were myself.

So here´s my list:

Awful:

-Beauty and the Beast: Belle´s Magical World
-The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2
-Atlantis: Milo´s Return

Below Average:

-101 Dalmatians 2
-Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True
-The Little Mermaid 2
-Tarzan and Jane
-Kronk´s New Groove

Ok

-Lady and the Tramp 2
-Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas
-The Fox and the Hound 2

Above Average

-The Return of Jafar
-Aladdin and the King of Thieves
-Mulan II
-Pocahontas 2
-The Lion King 1 1/2
-Bambi 2

Very Good:

-The Lion King 2
-Cinderella 3
-Return to Neverland

I have yet to watch: Brother Bear 2, Tarzan 2, The Jungle Book 2, the Stitch movies and watch Ariel´s Beginning again to be over and post my official rank.

Still, watching them I´d think that sequels could have been done by these criteria:

-No sequels to the Walt Disney era movies.
-Actual movies (not discarded TV episodes).
-Quality; not that they have to be as much or superior to the originals but that you could tell effort was placed on them.
-Not consider them canon; in the end all these movies would be a "what if" scenario. That way they couldn´t be officially related to the Classics.

BTW, someone here that have them in so collection or want them?

In my case, I´d only get the sequels to Aladdin because it´s my favorite movie and I rank them above average; if they ended being up just bad I don´t think I´d got them anyways.

Pardon my French, but the Jungle Book 2 pissed me off. They sang "Bare Necessities" three darn times. John Goodman as Baloo was jarring. Haley Joel Osment as Mowgli was trite. The only thing that kinda worked was Tony Jay as Shere Khan. And let's face it, Tony Jay makes any performance endearing and sexier.

It's a shame, because you can tell the artists were trying to make something worthwhile. They even managed to make an appearance before the deleted scenes. But, no, this film wasn't warranted.
