I imported this blu-ray last year (along with 101 Dalmatians). I can confirm that it is indeed a great buy. Picture and audio quality are great. I really didn't see the point in waiting 2 years to own this title in HD.

I imported it as well, the image is amazing. Plus, it has the 1993 VHS cover which has always been my favorite.

I'd love if they just used that cover for the Diamond/whatever edition. Give it a nice embossed slipcover to go with it. But nope, we'll get something halfway okay with a sideways title.

Awesome! I am waiting on the 101 Dalmatians since it is coming out at the end of the year. That I can wait on lol. I also see that they have Hercules and Tarzan as well. I will wait a little longer for those as well. I just couldn't wait any longer with Aladdin lol. :D

I sincerely hope when the title comes to the US, it will re-instate the missing features, along with adding some new ones (the original 1992 Disney Channel documentary, a new documentary about the Broadway musical, additional deleted songs/scenes, maybe an interview with Robin Williams?!?). Then I laugh bitterly and remind myself that Disney doesn't care about bonus features anymore.

Aren't all the Diamond Editions cutting out most of the Platinum Edition features?
Why would this be any different lol.

The picture quality is so enough for this buy! It is simply amazing!
I love it! I am so glad I got this!

It would look 100 times better in 3D and I pray we get a 3D release as well! :)

Actually, no. The Little Mermaid blu ray had new bonus features, and carried over most (if not all) the stuff from the platinum.

And no, sorry... increased resolution is not enough for ME to want to upgrade to blu ray.

I'll have to wait till the diamond for, basically, two reasons. The brazilian dub and I wouldn't able to survive with a BD with those hideous classification things on the cover rotfl

I may be tempted to import. It's unfortunate that the US of all places is the last to get blu-ray editions.

But I'll be waiting at least a little longer.

Oh don't wait any longer! This is def worth a buy. I am getting the Diamond Edition when it comes out as well but I couldn't wait any longer for the blu-ray lol. Don't listen to the negative comments when they haven't even seen it lol. Yes it's missing a few bonus features but that's what blu-ray is, HD! And the transfer actually looks remastered as well. The colors are more life like in some scenes. I still don't like how Iago's blue part of his feathers are glowing but it's still worth the buy. :)

I started to buy the import but didn't. I decided to wait and see if they do a 3D home release. Aladdin is the last DAC that I want in 3D and I really hope we get it next year!!

If you are a big fan of the movie and can't wait till 2015 lol then get it! :D
I will never watch the movie on the Platinum Edition DVD again lol. rotfl
The picture is so beautiful! :milkbuds: I also wish this will come out as a 3D release here in the US, but I doubt it. :(
I am still buying the Diamond Edition when it comes out in the US btw. :D

I picked up the UK edition last April and its great. I will probably still get the Diamond Edition whenever its released. I've been very tempted to order 101 Dalmatians too. Maybe if Amazon UK has another sale I'll pick it up.
